Yeah, that thought crossed my mind after the fact. I think the answer is that they get listed once they are enrolled in school, which precedes registering for classes. I'm hoping they all enroll for summer school.

So we are all in agreement that Noah, TJ, Cross and Leveque will be starters. Who will the 5th be? Diggins? G. Thompson? Or someone who hasn't been signed yet (N'Guessan).

I can tell you they won't list anyone until they are registered for classes. Same with new staff and faculty, they don't get listed in the SPIRE/CAPS DB (the main DB UMass uses to manage classes) until they are officially processed by HR. Students will tell you they often see classes listed without an instructor during class registration, this is because while the faculty is already assigned to teach they can't be listed until all the paperwork is in an I's and T's are dotted on the contracts. None of this is a speedy process.

Probably someone yet to be signed, or Diggins. It's really difficult to say because Gianni and Diggins played so little in their first year of CBB.

If N’Guessan comes here my bet is on Noah, TJ/Keon, Cross, N’Guessan, and Leveque

You think Keon will be higher on the depth chart than Diggs? I haven't seen a lot of game film on either of them, just highlight reels, and we know they can be deceiving. With Diggins, I would think that his year of practice against Big East teammates would have given him time to adjust to the speed of the game in CBB.

If we don't get N'Guessan, this guy just hit the portal from F Dickinson. He improved significantly during the course of the season.

5th could vary depending on the situation/opponent. Need someone to counter an extra big? more defense? or offense? need an extra ball handler vs that VCU press? got someone who can shut down that PG who is the essence of your opponent's offense? perhaps one of those you mentioned will prove to be the 5th best player, but you want that spark off the bench. Fun to speculate, but all we know for sure is Coach Martin will figure it out

Anybody know what's going on with Javohn? He was the first to enter the portal and is still out there. He struck me as the type of player Frank would like. With 3 openings now I wouldn't mind seeing JG come back. Also, no word on CJ or Cairo. This has been a very strange off season for us in the portal (or not in the portal in the case of CJ and Cairo).

I would loooooove Javohn to come back. Same with Cairo. They both seem like kids who would thrive in Martin's system.

Kind of crazy that there has been nothing about JG on twitter or anyplace else. Anybody, UMass fan or not, who has actually watched him play would say that he still has tons of potential.

I think right now for this roster my expectations are low for next near. That's not to say that I'm not excited for the future more I just think they would need a lot of jumps in production from a lot of guys. I also have no idea what to expect from Matt Cross so he's the wild card in my eyes.

Cross is going to be our second best player. And we're going to be good.
