If McCall is relieved of his duties
Re: If McCall is relieved of his duties
I saw Matt on a flight from DC to Hartford on June 3, he had a backpack and a suit in hand with no other luggage. I assumed job interview and it looks like with the sale of his house it went well (assuming that was what hecwas doing)I wish him well in his new endeavors.

Re: If McCall is relieved of his duties
is UMass off the hook for any buyout $$$ if he gets a job? I mean I like Matt and all, but wasn't he going to make $750k or more for just sitting in his backyard doing nothing for a year? Can't imagine he'd get a job that would pay him $750k per year from anyone!
Re: If McCall is relieved of his duties
I think he still has a decent resume as an assistant and could find interest from a good team.
Another head-coach gig could come next year.
I think we eat his salary next year if he doesn't coach. Not sure the specifics.

Already discussed ad nauseam here, but here it is again:

COACH is entitled to a payment according to the following timeline should termination occur. The buyout payment will be reduced by an offset for any basketball related salary earned by COACH during the remaining buyout period.

Thanks IV. My memory is not what it used to be.
Ok. So it is "an basketball related salary." Yeah, I expect he has a year off coming but I could be wrong.

Re: If McCall is relieved of his duties
he has to be trying to get a job, to get paid. My guess is he takes a broadcasting position for the year. What does that pay? Maybe 50k? Going to be paying the former coach a lot of money!!!

Judging from Twitter looks like Coach is back in Florida. No mention where or any job lined up.

TFC appeared on Brendan Surh's Coaching U podcast recently. Looks like he tried to get a couple of jobs "but they just did not work out" looks like he'll do broadcasting or nba scouting. No discussion of his time at umass.
Unf, it does not look like we'll be getting the walt bell golden life savior to pay off TFC contract...
