How embarrassing is this from the long time Providence Journal reporter!

Over the last 43 years since Jack Leaman retired, here are the 9 coaches winning percentage that followed him:

Wilson 9.4%, McLaughlin 28.6%, Gerlufsen 39.6%, Calipari 73.1%, Flint 54.4%, Lappas 43.5%, Ford 63.9%, Kellogg 53.1%, McCall 41.7%

Ouch!!!!

It is spot on. Yes. Covid has decreased attendance, and it is break for students. It is still spot on, though.

We have a fan base they are just lost but believe me they are there and just need to be woken up. UMass basketball has always been a blue collar type brand of basketball. Get back to that and never just let teams think they can win @ UMass.
Thanks to those 3 students who got me to the game through over a foot of snow. You can never say anything bad about our fans. They are there just need to let them know we got their backs when they get our backs. Go UMass!
What he said! Put a team that plays like it cares on the floor and the fans will return.

I doesn't matter, I guess. McCall's running a bad Patriot league program w P5 facilities.

Bamford needs to get the next hire right.
Bamford needs to go with McCall. Bamford is a POS and as worthless as teets on a bull.

Once the season ends its hard to picture him getting another shot.
Why shouldn’t he be fired tonight?
Bamford is over his head with little experience just like his hires.

Bamford is a D3 level AD stealing a D1 AD salary...He's Ithaca and Springfield College to the core! Why couldn't UMass have a UMass Sports Management Grad running its AD...

Covid or not, I have no interest to drive from NYC to see a McCall coached game anymore. Another failed hire from Bamford.

The crowd is empty, so of course there’s no noise or fight from the crowd to get rid of our AD.

Quite frankly, many of us have lost hope in the leadership here in Amherst.

The Boston press and political "Big Wigs" in the state capitol have always tried to keep UMass Athletics on a low rung so we could NEVER be competition for their beloved Boston College. It's not gonna change especially after the Cal era. They don't want another one like him to contend with!

I do not see any grand conspiracy against UM or for BC, which is also in the doldrums in most M sports.

Thorr is making over 200k less at URI then Bamford is at UMass and is winning in football, basketball and baseball. Not money or political support, Bamford is just not good at his job compared to Thorr...

You had two really good candidates even if Thorr did not want to the job

Vaughn Williams who was at Kennesaw State, I believe is back at BC

Bill Chaves who was at Eastern Washington now at N. Dakota.

The tide has finally turned. Better late than never I suppose. Although 6 years is a lot of freakin' time to waste.

I respect all my fellow UMass fans. I really do. Some people on this board have done more to help UMass in a year than I could do in a lifetime. I thank you for that. Having said that, pretty much the entire fanbase, led by this board, let Bamford and McCall off the hook for far too long. And this was after a very nasty campaign to get DK fired that led to the man being let go in the tunnel immediately after that loss to the Bonnies. It was clear very, very early on that McCall was not "the guy" and yet you had people backing him like a cult leader. I guess it helped some people get access, and podcast hits, and free merch so maybe it was worth it. This fanbase used to be so smart and see through bullshit but you guys backed McCall like he was the next Cal. What were people seeing? I will never understand.

It is well, well, well, well past time for Matt McCall to be let go. And that's just based on the public results. That's not getting into the behind the scenes stuff. I don't even care if Bamford gets another extension as long as it means McCall gets fired. I'm not looking for public apologies or for a nasty campaign like was launched against DK, but people better be at least sending emails to Ryan and Swammy about moving on.

What an utter, unnecessary waste this has all been. I look forward to a new coach coming in and the UMass community being reunited as we begin a new era of UMass Hoops.
