Amen to this. Fervently hope we see TJ, Javohn, Dyondre, Cairo, Preston, Dibaji, Noah, CJ and Kolton (and others if I'm forgetting names) have senior nights here where we can revel in their development. Maturity, consistency and development is there for them with the right guidance and hard work.

and as jj wrote:

Amen to this as well. MM was clear-eyed and solid. Just didn't work out. No recriminations, just living reality in the moment.

His sideline demeanor was so much more calm than what we've seen all season, while still coaching as best he can. You could really tell just how much this all weighed on him... and that he really knew this was coming.
While I think he genuinely cares for this group of players, I actually think he is a bit relieved to be leaving UMass. I don't think he ever felt comfortable here or actually liked it here. I agree with the above that he appeared to be more calm and relaxed last night, like the pressure was gone.

Yep, that's been talked about a lot and it is possible that factored into it.

While I was in favor of a change, I wish Matt the best. A good guy but it just didn’t work out.

Yes! I like these players, I've enjoyed watching them play here and seeing them develop, TJ's game has just grown immensely, and JG is just scratching the surface on his potential. I want to see Dyondre, Cairo and Preston develop into key contributors. Come on back boys!

That's bush league.

On rare occasions, Vautour still does a piece about the team, but he's normally too busy on the pro beat. The rest of the time MassLive either farms it out to a Collegian intern, or worse, just mails it in with an AP feed. They used AP coverage for the La Salle home game a couple weeks ago. Sad on two fronts: that we've fallen so far to make the coverage unjustifiable, and how much cutting to the bone has been done to local journalism.

The Springfield Paper isn't worth wrapping fish in! Typically only one page for sports coverage, and forget about college sports!
