Look at the bright side:
Ryan Marcus’ 4-4 from the free throw line enabled them to score more points in the second half than they did in the first half.
Fairly early in the 2nd half the radio guys were saying things like, they’re playing out the string, they can’t wait to get on the plane, etc.
They didn’t compete…what an utter embarrassment.

Did anyone really think we would win this game? I was guessing a 10-15 point loss, let's face it, "back to reality" for this team.
A winnable game on the road at LaSalle on Wednesday. Let's see how the guys respond. LaSalle is 5-5 at home so it won't be easy (sorry, it's never easy).

Just like football, a total embarrassment. How can one lose by 30 in just a few days, realize it is home/away, but by 30 on national TV.

Wait a minute. Are you giving them a pass?69MG wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 6:39 pm Did anyone really think we would win this game? I was guessing a 10-15 point loss, let's face it, "back to reality" for this team.

It’s one thing ‘to really think we would win this game’ and to be crystal clear, I did not, but I don’t think it׳s too much to expect the team to compete and at least TRY to win this game…or any other for that matter.

Just like football was, there is hope for this season coming up. Got to believe in Don Brown, but to keep Mccall is ridiculous. The guy hasn't had a winning season unless you count the COVID season (8-7).

^^ LS, no, I'm not giving them a pass. It just seems to be the history with MM teams that they follow a very good performance with a stinker so I wasn't surprised at the result. McCall is not the answer and we all know that. Not only is he mediocre coach, he's a bad GM.
I'll do an analogy to Bill B. and the Patriots. Bill, unlike MM, is a great coach but for several years he was criticized for his drafting. McCall did a lousy job of constructing this roster.
I railed early on that we didn't have enough size. We only have 1 true center on the team and he's nothing special. I heard from a few folks that you don't need bigs in the A10 to win. B.S. If you can't rebound and defend the paint you can't win.
Now we play a mediocre LaSalle team on the road. Their front line is 6'8, 6'9 and 6'10. They can't be great players otherwise LaSalle wouldn't be 6-10.
Let's see if we can follow up a stinker with a good performance.

I'll never complain about a team that plays hard and gets beat. At the very least, they should come out and play like they care. That's on the coach, the staff and the players themselves.

I'll be happy to have the conversation. Have his people call my people to set it up.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

The effort seemed to be there before St Louis pushed it to 15 or so. Once it got to 20, I admit, I fast forwarded through a lot of it. We're just a really bad rebounding team, generally. It is frustrating when I see long defensive rebounds end up in our opponent's hands. I think my biggest frustrations watching hoops are: 1) not cleaning up the D glass 2) turnovers 3) bad shot selection/not playing team offense 4) missed FTs.
