Also Greg Jones defensive contributions get overlooked when you look at the box score.

Nice to see them grind out a win short handed against a decent team. If we can get that JG and that Steadman on a consistent basis that raises the ceiling a bit. Still not sure how high that ceiling could be (gun to head I am thinking 11-7 in A10 would be about the best) but at any rate, this was a gutsy win.

DD has completely fallen off the map! He went from starter for the first 4-5 games to still playing WAY more than I would have liked the next 4-5 games to now not even getting off the bench in a game they were down 4 guys.
Is it possible DD was feeling under the weather but not too much to suit up?

Stayed for both games and I'm pleased with 2 wins. Fairfield isn't bad, and as usual, we were smaller than our opponent. I'll do a quick good and bad.

Good - Steadman. He adds a new dimension to the team, offensively and defensively.
Good- Garcia. He can impact the game on the defensive end more than Noah or Rich and he can take it to the basket. He needs 25 minutes a game.
Good - Jones. He is the unsung guy who does a lot of the grunt work that may not show up on the stat sheet.

Bad - Preston. He looks like the year off has taken it's toll. He looks tentative and a bit lost out there. He's better than that and I'm rooting for him.
Bad - Kolton. He does some good things and then makes 4 bad plays toward the end of the game that almost cost us the game. To be fair, he hasn't been in a game at crunch time in a long while and it seemed the pressure got to him. He tried to do too much and it didn't work.
Bad - Buttrick. He really blows hot and cold. When his shot isn't falling you can't have him in the game. He's not a rebounder or a defender.

All in all I feel good about this game. When Noah and TJ get back we'll have a solid 9 man rotation if Steadman and Garcia can keep up their good play.
Our defense looked better for much of the game and we won't shoot this poorly from 3 most games. Don't know what's up with DD. He was dressed and seemed in good spirits.

sure it's possible but in a game where you are down 4 guys already and Buttrick is still weak from having this sickness the week before and is clearly struggling, you'd think he'd at least get some time.

Didn't know Buttrick had been ill. If so, I'll give him a pass for this game. The 2 missed free throws didn't look like his normal stroke.

^ I'm giving everybody a pass for yesterday. It sounds like just about all of them had the flu and they couldn't even suit up 5v5 in practice.

The only one that doesn't get a pass is McCall. He should have game planned better knowing he had sick players. There's no excuse for needing overtime to beat lowly Farifield! (I'm kidding)

Team should get flu shots too. Remember TF's team got sick in NIT vs bama?

They were sick for the A10 tournament. One more win in the A10 tournament and they were likely NCAAs bound.

Flu shots this year don't match the flu strain. Either way, we should give them credit for grinding out the win. Could have easily used it as an excuse to lose, but they got it done. I'll take the W

you could tell - every shot was short - he had no legs at all...I know he's cooled off a bit from his hot start, but thats not him...he's a better player than he's shown the past 4 games...but like you said, lets give him a pass for the past two as he's been ill.

I just listened to the "Plant the Flag" podcast. McCall said DD had been sick and wasn't well enough to play. There were a lot more guys with the flu than we thought. This was a gutsy win. Now they have until the 30th to rest up and get ready for SLU.

Where is Preecher Grouse Jenkins to tell everyone how wrong they are about feeling good about the win while also dismissing the severity of the health challenges?
