what type of attendance do you think this team will be drawing off the bat?

My guess is between 3500 to 4k. Anything under 3500 is a MAJOR disappointment. Not sure how many new season tickets they sold and from the looks of the fundraising it was well short of the goal.

I'd be shocked if we break 3k for CCSU or Towson, but we will see.

Students should turn out to start this new chapter. Not sure what the student allotment is, 30, 40, 50%? Let in as many as show up. Hopefully Frank can get the students interested.

Fans and students will show up if they win. If they dont win they wont show up. If the team goes 1-2 in SC it would really put a damper on things

My expectation is for there to be some juice for the opener, maybe we get to 4,500 with all the excitement surrounding Frank Martin and the new recruits. Then I think it will dip down to 3,000 for a while, especially through Thanksgiving and Christmas, and if they're winning it will slowly start to fill up to maybe a consistent 5,000 or 6,000 if they're really good. I don't want to think about what it will be like if they're not winning.

Don't forget about all the new posters that we'll start to see on this board as well if the team starts to show well. That will also be a good sign of interest in both football and basketball.

Getting the students involved has long been a problem for BB. They only come for a big TV game or if we are winning big. A thousand or more students would juice up the atmosphere in the building tremendously. Let's hope we get off to a good start and play exciting ball. The students will start to come and they'll keep coming (I hope) as long as we keep winning.

The same holds true for the casual fans. I know this topic has been discussed a million times but 5,000 or more makes this a much tougher place to play for the visitors. Especially if 1,000 of the 5,000 are students.

last season's Penn State, Rutgers and Harvard (all excellent home wins) seem much better than the upcoming home schedule (CCSU, Towson, Dartmouth). Hoping for better to come.

Women are playing St. Peter's this year.

If the men do the same, it won't be the same team as last year at all, but might draw some interest.

I doubt we will see a big team come to the Bill this year. They will hide from Frank.

Iona would be fun.

So true. It's a totally different arena when we get up over that 5,000 mark, and students make a world of difference. It's a tough number to hit consistently, but if we're winning we should see that by February. A little more outreach would be great too, I miss the old radio show they used to do from the Hangar. Frank seems like the kind of guy that would be into doing that, especially coming from an SEC school. I wonder what his media obligations were like down there.

Harvard was 13-13 last year and lost a few good players. But they brought in Matt Filipowski (7'0), not as good as his brother but still pretty good and Okpara (6'8) who had a bunch of P5 offers. I'm glad it's a home (   ) game for us.

Bummer it isn't at home. I will be in Amherst that day. Maybe I make the trek to Cambridge for it.

Mike, I can remember posting that only a few days before I found out I'd been bounced from the PA announcing job. From then on, I didn't see much point in continuing to update it. Still, thanks for picking up the torch.
