Georgetown went 0-19 in conference play last season

Yeah, it was that bad

Too bad the opponents aren't reversed. Don't we all want a game against Rick?

Saint Bonaventure will play Iona and UMass will play Hofstra as part of a single day event on December 11th in Brooklyn, according to multiple sources.
More matchups TBA, hosted by the Basketball HOF.

Absolutely. Would generate some much needed national buzz for UMass if that happened.

If we were playing Iona, I'd definitely be there. Still considering it.

Ty for the update!

OOC is shaping up to be pretty competitive, so far.

The MTE tournament looks like three solid neutral site opponents. Hopefully we win at least two games.

Penn State is a winnable game on the road against a P5 opponent.

North Texas is a tough team in a mid-major conference at a neutral site that is basically a quasi-home game.

Hofstra was decent in a mediocre conference last year but we should beat them.

Dartmouth is a cream puff at home and we should crush them.

We'd all love to see games vs. BC, PC and ConU. I don't think any will happen any time soon but hoping for at least one, even if it is on the road. Would love to renew playing Temple, even though the rivalry is long past.

The more-likely standard opponents we'd get to come to the Mullins Center are, of course: Lowell, NU, BU, Harvard, Holy Cross. I'd be fine with all five coming to Amherst for a butt-kicking experience next season. I'd even be okay with one of those games on the road in a two-for-one series.

Some other choices that might be interesting: Vermont, Wilmington, Delaware, Drexel, Charleston, Old Dominion, Yale, Iona, Siena, Buffalo, Central Michigan (Barbee), Northern Iowa, Murray State, LIU, Navy, Army, Chattanooga, Wagner, Belmont, St. Peter's (even though nobody is left), Princeton...

Teams I don't really have interest in seeing: Merrimack, Bryant, CCSU, Maine, UNH, Sacred Heart...

If we do the Mountain West thing, I'd like to play Air Force because we have two bases near the Bill and might draw a bigger crowd if the game is at home.

Possible exhibition opponents (play it in the CAGE!!!): Holy Cross, AIC, Amherst College, Albany, NJIT, UMass Boston.

A buy game on the road against a P5 team might also be interesting and would help pay for Frank's contract...

Looks like UM/Hofstra is one of four games at Barclays on December 11.
We knew about Iona vs Bona. Others:
Maryland vs. Tennessee
Oklahoma State vs. Virginia Tech

I like Springfield. Being in the middle of final exams, though, maybe not great. Probably tricky to schedule in second half of December for many opponents.

We should play Harvard every year on a home-and-home basis . . . at least while Amaker is coaching them.
