Do we know what happened up there? Did Schmidt's flirting with UMass backfire on him? Is there some brewing scandal we don't know about? It's just so odd.

I think it's just a bunch of 5th year Seniors taking advantage of their extra COVID seasons by experiencing something other than Olean, NY. Even though they made it to the NIT final, they underperformed this year. They've maxed out there and want a new experience.

Mark Schmidt is a real dude.

I wouldn't be surprised if he simply wanted the best for his players and told them they can face better competition and have a better opportunity to prepare for the professional level elsewhere.

Not sure how well Bonnies will compete next year with Max Amadasun and Chad Venning as their bigs. It's definitely a step down, IMHO.

Looks like Schmidt is committed to starting over, and a solid start with his new recruit.

Yann Farell commits to the Bonnies. Farell chose the St. Bonnies over UConn, Miami, Vanderbilt, Seton Hall, Fordham, Rhode Island, West Virginia.

Wow! How does Schmidt do it? Love having a potential superstar in the league.

He has a lot of playing time to offer since the whole team transferred out.

Not sure this has crossed anyone's mind but after the Butler experience, what are the odds that Loyola of Chicago, Illinois will pull a Butler in a 3-4 years? Personally not sure and my wild a$$ guess would be under 50% perhaps 30% chance.

^they'd be thrilled to be the only Big East school in Chicago, but that's not happening, and that differs a lot from Butler's situation/location. although the BE likely wants to add at least 1 team, so maybe.

Well, maybe DePaul will block them as it is rumored that Xavier would block Dayton and perhaps if we get our sh-t together, we could be a possibility.
