Early chance to get a good road win. Yale may end up a top 100 team. If the baseline goal is the NIT, this is one we want.
Re: Game 2, 2021-22: at Yale (11/12)
Did a quick check of the Yale team. All I have so far is that bulldogs are short.
Their starting lineup against Vassar (DIII) in an 88-42 win was:
6'0
6'2
6'5
6'5
6'7
The first four off the bench were 6'4, 6'4, 6'8, 6'8. If Steadman isn't 100%, maybe we hold him out again and save him for Penn State. Buttrick, Jones, Walker and DD should be OK against this lineup.
Need to do more research on their 3 point shooting, etc.

Yale beat up on Vassar to start the season. The box score shows 18 guys played for Yale. Thought 15 guys was the max.

I think they suited up the student managers at halftime.bobolink wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 8:34 pm Yale beat up on Vassar to start the season. The box score shows 18 guys played for Yale. Thought 15 guys was the max.

Re: Game 2, 2021-22: at Yale (11/12)
Looks like Yale was picked 1st in the Ivy. They also have a really good guard. I'd make sure Dibaji covers him for at least 10 mins during the game. Should be a tough one and would be a really good W if we can get it.
Re: Game 2, 2021-22: at Yale (11/12)
^ It's hard to get a handle on a tam that didn't play last year. The guard Insider mentioned is Swain (6'0). He averaged 8 threes a game in 2019-2020 and shot them at 39%. Another guard, Cotton (6'5) took 4 threes a game at 35%. Over 40% of their shots were threes so I guess we should expect more of that.
They were good on D in 2019-2020 only giving up 65 points a game. As I said, they haven't played in over a year so it's not easy to figure out what they'll do, but they were picked 1st in the Ivy coaches poll.

I forgot about that whole year off thing for the Ivy league. Does that mean the whole roster will be rusty? Like you said, difficult to gauge what to expect from them.

From talking with the student writers on Spaces the other night, I got the sense that Steady might be out for a little while. Whatever it was had just happened on Monday, so one one had / was talking about details, but it didn't sound like something quick.

Sounds like a maybe to see CJ play tomorrow, but far from certain.
Steady is out for a bit. Sounds like a hard no for tomorrow.
A little Yale scouting report mixed in there too.

I guess that we will find out how good a team we will have. Expect that Yale will play a zone and we will see if we can improve on our outside shooting.
