Season Tickets 2021-22
I’m surprised there hasn’t been any discussion on this board regarding season tickets yet.
On August 11 I got a cryptic email from the Athletic Dept. saying it was time to renew our season tickets. It included a link that went to the renewal site but there was no further information. And there has been no further follow up. As far as I can tell there is nothing current on the Basketball web site about tickets either.
I finally called the Athletic Dept. to try to get a little more information. The prices will be the same as the last time season tickets were available. Apparently they are planning on full seating capacity and will be following the University Covid policies at the time. It was indicated that there would be more information coming, but so far I have not seen anything.
Except for one short post by IV on August 11, I haven’t seen anything else on this board either. I am just wondering how everyone feels about season tickets this year. Has anyone renewed already?
We have had season tickets for 20 years and I would hate to give them up at this point, but it is a considerable expense and there is still a large degree of uncertainty going into the new school year. My wife and I are retired and in our ‘70s. Our family is all fully vaccinated, but the Delta variant has complicated things. And given what happened when the students came back second semester last year, it doesn’t seem like we can take anything for granted at this point.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

One thing you can count on, there will be plenty of space for social distancing

Call them back and renew. No reason to give them up.
If you can't go or don't feel safe going, sell or give them to someone else. Consider it a donation to the program.
If things go to hell again and they can't have fans for some reason, I'm sure they will either refund the balance of the games lost or provide a credit towards tickets next year.
I think the lack of information has more to do with there being no formal schedule announcement yet.

They haven't released the schedule yet, but the renewal is for 16 home games. Renewal deadline is 9/17 so any change to seat locations will be handled after that.

Looks like our 16 home games are locked in:

Re: Season Tickets 2021-22
I am on the fence but will probably renew.
Also heard a few weeks back they are considering removing all floor seats and keeping the hockey boards and glass up for basketball games to help with social distasting between the players and fans. Only players and authorized personal will be allowed on the floor level which would mean in theory only people who are fully vaccinated and authorized would have floor access because UMass requires all students and employees to be vaccinated.
Whether or not this is still the plan but a few weeks ago I heard it was highly likely.

My friend and I started our season tickets when Dr J was a sophomore and we kept them up into the late 90's. We traveled all they way from Pittsfield, MA even when we had those bad years in the 80's and rarely missed a game so why should it be such a big deal to get your season tickets. Support the team.

Wrong thread, I know, but does anyone know if we can still flex our unused tickets to a future game? Can this be done online or should I call the ticket office? Thanks!

Yes, both online and via phone. If doing it online, it needs to be done more than 24 hours in advance of the game. If calling the box office, you can do it the same day.
