When we play SLU we won't have to deal with one of the better bigs in the A10:

Also not back for SLU: Jordan Goodwin. Rothstein:
Saint Louis' Jordan Goodwin tells me that he's staying in the 2021 NBA Draft and will not use his additional year of eligibility.

That's fantastic news. I know that "it's better for everybody when the A10 is better", but for cryin' out loud, I'm sick and tired of losing to St Louis. One win in our last 8 games against them (3 wins in 15 tries in the Kellogg/McCall eras). These two departures hopefully even the odds a little.

^ tough game. Looks like they beat Purdue this past NCAA tournament. They landed that kid, Abou Ousmane, who we looked to be recruiting last year.

North TX were Conference USA tourney champs last season, and regular season champs the year before. Not a big name, but it's a good mid-major test. Long way to go though for a one-off.

We need Tom McLaughlin for a scouting report. UM has only played UNT once before, during his tenure, back when the school was called North Texas State.

We don't open with Lowell as we have in pre-covid years. UMBC tied for 1st in America East with Vermont last year at 10-4 in conference (14-6 overall).

If you scroll down to UMass, he says we have home games pending with UCF and Akron in addition to the games Mike has listed in the 2021 preview. That would give us 11 non-conference games thus far. Mike's list:
Schedule
Confirmed
November 9 (Tue) - UMBC - Home. Unclear if this is a one-off or this begins a new series.7)
November 12 (Fri) - Yale - Away. Unclear if this is a one-off or this begins a new series.8)
November 15 (Mon) - Penn State - Home. This season's game begins a home-and-home series, in conjunction with an agreement for UM/PSU football games.9)10)11)12)
November 27 (Sat) - Rutgers - Home. This returns our game at Rutgers from November 2019.13)14)15)
December 4 (Sat) - Harvard - Home. This game concludes our series.16)17)
December 11 (Sat) - North Texas - Neutral. Jon Rothstein reported UM/UNT will be part of a triple-header in Fort Worth, about 40 miles from UNT's campus.18)
December 19 (Sun) - Fairfield - Home. This game concludes our series.19)
New Hampshire, date TBD - Home. Reported by Rocco Miller.20)
UMass-Lowell, date TBD - Home. Jon Rothstein reported we will host Lowell again.21) Prior to the pandemic season of 2020-21, we had hosted UML for our season opener for the previous four seasons.

This looks to be a very tough schedule. Let's hope we're up for it. McCall definitely not picking bottom feeder opponents in this critical year for him.

I wouldn't call it "very" tough but it will be challenging for the Minutemen.

^ Agree. Not a killer schedule, but tougher than some of the cupcakes in the past (excluding early season tournaments). Some good home games, however, in UMBC, Harvard, Rutgers and Penn State (and potentially UCF and Akron).
