Re: 2021 Recruiting
Well he’s got some size and experience. We need both. No idea how good he is. Decent #s at least.

Well, winter weather shouldn't be an issue coming from Montana. Adds some needed size

Re: 2021 Recruiting
Steadman started in Juco, then transferred to San Jose State, then transferred to Montana, and now he’s coming to UMass. That’s the only concern here.
This could low key be a great addition, and I’m optimistic about Steadman. His first year in the Mountain West he averaged 13.2ppg and 8.5rpg, that’s very good. Then he sat out a year and clearly didn’t think that Montana was the right fit for him, despite being a preseason first time all conference player.
ESPN also ranked him as the 49th best sit out 1 year transfer when he did make the move from SJSU to Montana; with all the players that transfer these days, that’s not a bad rank.

Re: 2021 Recruiting
Glad we added some size. Watching the video it looks like he's reasonably athletic. We still have 2 open slots and I'm looking for another big and a shooter.
Re: 2021 Recruiting
I actually really like the addition. Definitely skilled on offense and his numbers display a good rebounder.inthescoop wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 10:00 pm Steadman started in Juco, then transferred to San Jose State, then transferred to Montana, and now he’s coming to UMass. Looks like he left mid-February. He was getting starts.

Decent hands and lift. Shot looks good but man does he have to learn to go to his LEFT!!! Need TB to teach him his pivot moves...or maybe Ty Weeks!?!

Good size, quickness, and a nice little baby hook... As of right now the day 1 starter at the 5. Looks to be a solid pick up.

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
He's bounced around a lot but we only need him to stick it out for one year here. He's got all the size, experience, and production that we could have hoped to get to fill this position of great need. Good on the staff for going out and finding a west coast guy and getting him to Amherst.

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
Some of the best minutes for the Minutemen were about sharing the ball. Michael totaled 5 assists in his 20 games played, making me think there's something to be learned there. That said, he meets a need for size and experience, which are badly needed. Glad to have him.

Centers aren’t going pick up a ton assists in all systems especially ones where the game isn’t played through thembobolink wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 7:45 am Some of the best minutes for the Minutemen were about sharing the ball.
