Most misused used player in Brusier's 5 years. Loved that kid, I felt his frustrations with him on the floor.

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
Hey, thanks Mike. Interesting quote from Steadman here:
Also said he models his game after David Lee. Nice comparison, I loved his game.
Two takeaways for me from that: 1. They seem like they have a really good vision. Ok, I've been crushing them for lack of recruiting strategy/philosophy the last few days, but here's an experienced older player that sees it differently. I like that. 2. He chose UMass because of the team and because of the academics. UMass has a lot to offer, and it's nice to hear a player say it.But what stood out for UMass was the coaching staff, they seem like they have a really good vision. They finished pretty well last year in their conference, in a tough conference, the Atlantic 10 at that. And it’s also a really good academic school too so I felt like that was the best of both worlds.

Another thing that stood out is he said he likes to play inside our set lots of picks which McCall does a lot of and was often a complaint of those connected to Mitchell that it didn’t really mesh well with his best attributes. Also definitely didn’t work well with guys like Holloway Malik Hines fit it much better.

He chose UMass over Cal and San Diego State. That stuck out to me most!MikeUMA wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 9:42 am Interview with Steadman:

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
So we're getting three COVID-5th-year rules players with Buttrick, Kelly and Steadman. Will likely never happen again. It does bring a lot of maturity to the team.
Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
^ The long experience would serve us better in a season with true freshmen on the roster. In 21-22, we're not expecting to have any.

*Highlight Alert*
Alcides Coop on Twitter posted some video of Steadman from his year at Montana. https://twitter.com/Alcides_Coop/status ... 7554542594
I think this is a real nice pickup. There are so many players out there, it's interesting how the staff identifies a guy at a smaller school out west like that. But anyways, I was expecting a big lumbering center, however, he looks pretty athletic. Seems like he moves his feet well and can use both hands. If he can stay on the floor, he'll be a solid piece. Maybe he's this year's Sean Carter. Solid, not great, but a solid piece at the 5 that you need while your outstanding guards get you to a deep NIT run or hang around the NCAA bubble.

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
Wondering why we haven't seen UM officially announce Steadman as yet. They've said something about Buttrick and the Kellys.
Or, just file this under: offseason needs something to talk about.

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
Still no official word about Steadman, and it has now been 6 weeks since they said something about Buttrick. Maybe nothing, but it's a head scratcher.
Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
It is weird that UM hasn’t officially announced anything but McCall retweeted Steadman’s announcement. We should know soon enough because I recall him saying he’ll be on campus at the end of May.

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
Wonder if it is related to whenever grades officially close at his previous school. Might be necessary for whatever Grad program he is transferring into here at UMass.

Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
Steadman signing looks like got a mature player with abilities. Needed the size. Hope we sign one more "big"also.
Re: KAEO: Michael Steadman
The longer this drags on the more concerned I get. The good news is that Michael still has UMass on his Twitter page.
