Former Fairfield wing John Kelly has enrolled at UMass and will be reunited with his older brother Rich, who committed to the Minutemen back in April.

John is a 6-7 forward that can really shoot it. Has battled with injury to start career but the ability is there!

Major props to @CoachMattMcCall for taking a chance on a kid that most wouldn’t have given the time of day. John is a great kid with a great mindset and work ethic. Redshirted as a freshman and was injured as a sophomore but if healthy he can add shooting & length to any squad!

John Kelly joins the Fairfield University men’s basketball program after spending his senior season at Willison Northampton School. Prior to the 2018-19 season, Kelly spent a year at Cheshire Academy after attending Fairfield Prep for his freshman and sophomore campaigns. He is a two-time Class AA All-NEPSAC player, earning honorable mention as a junior at Cheshire Academy before collecting a spot on the Class AA All-NEPSAC team as a senior at Willison Northampton. He also garnered accolades at Fairfield Prep as he was placed on the New Haven Register All-Area team in 2016-17.

Not much "love'' here for us. They don't think much of the transfers, impact, or breakout players(Weeks & Buttrick) . . recruiting's gone south again.
