Same here.. but I get it. So many folks I know have tested positive for Covid in the last week here in the city.
Vaccinated?? Hopefully they all feel ok.. I hope between vaccinations and treatments this can just become something you get.. feel shitty for a few days and move on.. it's not going away and at some point we have to get back to some form of normalcy.. if you choose not to get vaxed it's your choice but it's also your choice accept the risk
And it puts others at risk and prolongs the pandemic.

And takes up capacity in our hospitals. Overworks health professionals.

I have zero tolerance for the unvaccinated. Incredibly selfish, reckless behavior.

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm kind of a geek for stats (looking at them, not necessarily interpreting them). If you haven't seen Warren Nolan's site, it can take up a lot of your time if you allow it to. It covers men's and women's BB and it remarkably thorough. Here's the link:

Mr. Nolan doesn't seem to like our chances in conference play. He's predicting that we go 6-12, losing every road game except for at LaSalle.

Should find out within a week whether Mr. Nolan's low rating of UMass is warranted. He has both SLU in Amherst and UMass @ Fordham being close losses for the Minutemen. The critical questions of can we beat a better A10 team given our success at home and beat one of the weaker A10 teams on the road despite our road woes can get answered early. In a crazy season when covid could add to craziness, 1-2 games won't determine the season, but these 2 feel like a key sample. I have a vague notion that UMass has been a little better in close games this season than previous Coach McCall seasons.

In the next approx. 10 days we have SLU, Fordham, Richmond and Duquesne on the schedule. The first question is the health of our guys coming off a trip home. We did pretty well last year compared to a lot of other teams so let's hope the guys were careful.

I know SLU had 1 player test positive before the break. Does anyone know what other A10 teams had to cancel a game because of a Covid issue in their own program?

R Kelly, Buttrick, and Jones are the only players to have played in all 12 games.

I have tickets to the Davidson game on Tues. Jan 11 for myself and my daughter. I hope the game is played and spectators allowed. On the news tonight a local college. John C Smith, is not allowing any spectators into the games.

For the men's team, it might only affect Preston. I'll have to check the WBB season stats for the freshmen.

From CollegeAD.com:
Currently, NCAA rules stipulate that if a basketball player appears in a single game, he or she can no longer redshirt.
But the A10 is asking that redshirt players be permitted to serve as essentially emergency fill-ins for up to four games without burning their sit-out year. The request is for the waiver to apply to all Division I basketball — men’s and women’s — and only for this year.

What really sucks to me about the transfer rule, especially the grad transfer rule is, you get a guy for a year. Generally takes a while to settle in, get acclimated, then he's gone. Gasperini played better late last year, Steadman is starting to come around after being injured early, Buttrick is been about the same, but then we start over. Can't get any continuity, any development to each other. Really like to see UMass make an effort to recruit and develop some frontcourt talent. Guards are easier to get, but our bigman talent has been a revolving door

I think MM's recruiting/roster building has been worse than his coaching. And that's hard to do.

I feel like we'd be 2 wins better right now if Steadman hadn't missed the first bunch of games. I still think he would have taken some time to settle in, but he'd be ahead of where he is now.

The transfer thing is hard to navigate, that's for sure. Unless you're Cal and the lot dealing with the top top end of the talent pool, you really need to make sure you hit on the transfers for it to work out year after year.

Agreed. And new guys every year makes it harder for the semi casual fan to connect to the team
