I mean 18 points, 4 Rebs, 4 ast, and 3 steals in his 2nd career game and our best player on the court today? I stand by it. Needs to clean up the mistakes a bit but he's impressive.
Very poor decisions on his passes.....cross court...poor angles on post passes...
Those are all easily correctable and teachable things for a player playing his 2nd career collegiate game. Can't teach talent though, and he has it in spades.

Pierre and Weeks shot a combined 50% from the 3!!! Too bad Carl didn't attempt a single 3 pointer and TJ was 2-4. Very strange so few attempts from them.

I have 1 degree from NU but I am a UMass person and take no pleasure out of losing to my other alma mater. My heart is in Amherst, always.

I like how we fought hard at the end. That was a positive today.

So far, I am disappointed with Gasperini and DD.

Still early in a season with limited preparation and no scrimmage nor exhibition.

We need Preston Santos back and need more than 2 minutes from Dibaji.

I think we are better than what we saw for most of today.

It would be great to either have Santos back or D Walker to straighten out whatever issues that caused the coach to bench him for the opener. We could use either one to help out in the front court. One thing I've liked in the first two games is that the team seems much more active going to the boards.

Note to coach.. STOP PRESSING ALL GAME. It is a loosing strategy unless you have better athletes than your opponent. Even then, it should be used sparingly. They lost the game due to too many easy buckets and free throws.

Really disappointed, we took 20 steps back today. Typical lack of effort and adjustments from the coaching staff. We celebrated 1 win way too much; no hunger today.

on the other hand Coen is a really good coach. The difference in NU from game one to game two was noticeable.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

What a freakin' genius:
McCall on TJ Weeks minutes: "We need to find more minutes for TJ because he not only scored with the ball today but he had six rebounds and only played for 18 minutes. Some of these minutes for these other guys probably need to go down and TJ’s need to go up a little bit..."

TJ should be the #3 guard after JG and Noah

Not taking him out as often would be a great start!!He also should have some assistants that notice that sort of thing.....not the one monitoring their prep school players, obviously.....

I'm not a huge fan of McCall but this season and these early games are probably not good games to judge by.
I've had 3 seasons and two games to assess. It looked like offensive adjustments were made with about 11:00 minutes left in the game, but they should've come sooner, because it was very clear NU altered their spacing on D and maintained discipline. We did nothing to throw them off balance. The casual perimeter PnR sets were playing right into their hands.

You're right. 29 minutes, 1 rebound, 1 assist, shot 2 of 7.

Nothing against Carl himself. I wish him a boatload of success, but McCall has to be more nimble and do what's best for the team. TJ does so much more. Let Dibaji work himself in.

Pierre has not been good for over a year - he’s starting for what he did his freshman and sophomore year. He should be the 7th man - if he keeps starting and playing big minutes we won’t be as good as we could.

McCall on end of game: "Really a wasted last possession. We drew an action there to try to get something at the basket but have some screening action away from the basket if a three was open to take. We never got organized on that last possession."

So if there is no open three, it's OK drive and score and be down one with two seconds left?
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

If you asked the coaching staff that question right now, they would shrug their shoulders and say uhhhhhh I don't know.
