Updates on Former UMass Players Still Playing College Ball
Re: Updates on Former UMass Players Still Playing College Ball
Wonder if Tre Mitchell is hurt or just not meshing in yet with the game plans. He hasn't played a lot the past four games which includes only playing two minutes and not registering any stats in a 14 point loss vs the Oklahoma Sooners.
Admittedly, I have seen very little UTexas basketball this season but looking at his game log he seems to pile up good numbers against weaker teams and struggles vs the P5 type teams.

Wish he stayed, he'd be a dominate player in the A10 and UMass might be looking at a 10-12 wins right now with him on the floor.

A smart person learns from his mistakes, but a truly wise person learns from the mistakes of others.

Ty Flowers (for LIU vs. FDU) with a big game yesterday: 30 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks.

Very tough day for Sy Chatman. Illinois State coach Dan Muller said Chatman suffered a torn ACL in left knee and obviously done for the season. Chatman really turned his career around this season. Hoping he can make full recovery.

Ronnie DeGray hit some big free throws down the stretch giving Missouri the lead with less than 2 mins to go.. ALMOST upsetting the #1 team in the land Auburn (ranked 1 for the first time ever).

Why can't we get players like that...

Re: Updates on Former UMass Players Still Playing College Ball
^ I liked Ronnie's game a lot last year, but I'm not sure he would have made a significant difference this year. He averaged 8.6 and 4.6 in 27 minutes and he didn't have many blocks or steals. He would have helped but he can't carry a team. There's only one guy who could have turned this team into a winner and he's averaging a paltry 9.2 and 4.3 for Texas. Those numbers would probably be doubled if he were here.

I liked the way Ronnie's game developed over the course of the season last year. I suspect he would have become much better this year and been very solid. I'm not suggesting he would carry this or any team, but he'd be in the top 3 players on this current team.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

^ I agree. Pretty smart player, can shoot it fairly well, strong frame and we could use him on the boards. Everyone's game was sacrificed a bit with Tre being the main focus, but Ronnie had a pretty solid freshman year

"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Good for Carl. Sounds like he's having fun this year.

Not about a former player but a former coach
Just watched the Kentucky/Arkansas game...Bruiser is an assistant coach for Kentucky....appeared completely disinterested....if he wasn't chomping on his gum, I'd swear he was sleeping

Sad...I always thought he was a great guy

Interesting observation. Hard to believe there were some people here who wanted to bring him back. Maybe he doesn't many resobsibilities there, I don't mknow.

Carl had a nice game (overtime win) tonight against So. Miss. 17-10-3 playing 45 minutes.
