Houston lost to Tulsa by one point. Tough night for Gresham. He fouled with one second left and a one-point lead. He also missed all of his four free throws, three in the last few minutes. First loss of the season.

If you've got nothing better to do tonight (oh, there's that football game), you can watch Sean East on ESPN+.

Interesting comment yesterday by color guy Giannini during the game. He said often times, big guys play basketball just because they are pushed to because of their size, and smaller guards, wings, and forwards play because they want to. Could be truth to that, and maybe Sy falls into that category. Gotta do what makes you happy, hope Sy finds what gives him a spark.

Some former players were active yesterday. LIU beat Merrimack with Flowers going 16/5/6 with 2 steals and a block and Wood, off the bench, going 7/2/3. In Houston's win over Tulane, Gresham's line was 2/3/0 with 2 steals and 3 blocks, while Jarreau was 6/2/4 with 1 steal and 2 blocks. Both started although neither had a ton of minutes, maybe because it was a blowout. Bradley lost to Valpo in OT with East getting 13/5/2 in 36 minutes.
Re: Updates on Former UMass Players Still Playing College Ball
Being a bit bored on a Saturday morning, I decided to check out how Sean East is doing at Bradley. I think we're all (at least most of us) in agreement that Noah has exceeded expectations so I did a comparison of this year for the two of them:
Sean: 28.5 minutes, 8.8 points, 3.5 boards, 4.0 assists, 1.8 turnovers, 1.1 steals, 42% FG%, 78% FT, 34% 3 point FG.
Noah: 32.4 minutes, 11.9 points, 4.9 boards, 5.2 assists, 2.0 turnovers, 1.9 steals, 43.5 FG%, 87% FT, 37% 3 point FG.
I give credit to Sean for getting his game under control and cutting down his turnovers but I'll take Noah. I also think Noah's overall D is better than Sean's but I haven't seen much of Sean's play this year.

I was, and still am, a Sean East fan, but I have to admit Noah has been more than I expected. He's got a steady court demeanor, and I agree with 69 that he's a better defender. I think he fits better with this team, and I feel pretty good with him and JG as the point guards for the next few years. Very steady

Ty Flowers (23 pts., 8 rebs) led LIU over St. Francis 102-88, whose second leading scorer was Unique McLean (14 pts., 3 rebs) yesterday. LIU tied with Bryant now for first place in the NEC.

McLean had 9 pts, 10 rebs, 5 assts in a losing cause today. And yesterday Houston had a rare loss but not due to Jarreau who had 25, 5, and 5.
