Hey, he's the 18th ranked player in New Hampshire according to New England Recruiting Report and we're his only offer. :(
However, I don't want to pass judgement until I see him on the court. I have to assume Frank sees something in him.

Like, he'll be a great practice player, to push the starters? (Sorry, I'm still upset about the offensive side of the football squad)
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Like most, I'm perplexed by this recruit, it's not like this guy's a priority and with limited ships, you'd think we would use it more prudently, but I trust Frank.

First time poster here (long time observer), do we know for sure he is getting a scholarship? Could we be a PWO? I have no idea, just speculating. And nothing again Rollie, I know nothing about him at this point, he could be worth a scholarship for all I know.

He's been "offered", and I don't think you "offer" anything but a scholarship.

We're also chock full of walk-ons already, with Jackson Cronin (who was reportedly tagged as PWO), Ryan Marcus, and John Kelly.

We don't see it announced very often in basketball, but I believe players absolutely do get "offered" PWO spots. I can't find any specific mention of a scholarship as it relates to Rollie and UMass. I'm not saying he's going to be a PWO, but I think it very well could be the case.

I think it's been mentioned that Frank has some kind of connection with this kid. No idea if he'll be an impact guy at UMass or if Frank is doing someone a favor and bringing him in as an end of the bench role player.

Frank's a big name coach and a big personality, and once he was hired this program became his. His son's on the team likely because he's Frank's son rather than him being the 100% best guy for that spot. Rollie may or may not be a similar case.

A good D1 team can get by with 8 guys playing, so scholarships 9-13 usually aren't make or break. Would McCall have been secure in his job enough to bring in what some could see as a nepotism player?

Frank's brought a buddy on staff that just retired from Miami PD. I don't see any of this as being a big deal and right now I have 0 doubts on what Frank is doing with the program. Maybe his friend is the best strength coach we've ever had and maybe Brandon and Rollie will help UMass get to the top of the A10. Or maybe they're all here because of personal connections with Frank. Just calling em like I see em. If UMass jumps into the top 4 for the next 5 years I don't really care how they do it, within reason.

All true but we could have used a big to replace Kante.

^ It's very early in the recruiting process. I expect at least 1 big, maybe 2 to come in for next year. You almost have to expect a couple of guys to leave after this season so there will be room.

I agree with some, this ‘23 class looks rather underwhelming on paper. Hopefully, we can get Comeh Emuobor to commit soon. I’m also confident that one good season under FM, and the narrative changes quite quickly for our recruiting.

One thing to remember Frank and his staff know who is going to leave after this year before we do. My guess is we will be replacing at least 4 players, but that is a guess based on playing time and guys being ready to go play for pay.
