2023 Recruiting

Post by Old Cage » Mon Sep 07, 2020 9:19 am

Yikes! But I guess that it is time to start this thread.

Sherwyn Cooper @BallasTV ·5m
2023 6’5 G Reid Ducharme of Noble and Greenough (MA) has received an offer from Umass associate head coach Tony Bergeron.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

We just offered Mackenzie Mgbako from NJ. My first thought is why? He has multiple offers from high major programs and UCLA also offered him yesterday. Do we normally just throw offers out and hope one sticks or do we have some sort of connection with him?

Sometimes it’s just to have the name I contention or be there if things fall through

I agree, can't have a shot if you don't make the offer. Might be a connection somewhere in there

From Verbal Commits:
11/22/2020 - 2023 SG Walter Allen III (6-1, -, 2★) has received an offer from Massachusetts.
This is Ray Allen's son.

Something doesn't compute. I know y'all will explain it to me. But if his name is Walter Allen III shouldn't his father be Walter Allen Jr?
Edit: Well, whaddya know! Per Wikipedia, Ray Allen's full name is Walter Ray Allen Jr. I guess that makes sense. If your dad is named Walter and you're named Walter, they'll probably call you something else. I wonder what they call Walter III. Maybe this'll be another Steph Curry story.

anyone got any info about TJ Power? 4-star was heavily recruited by South Carolina, but he's from Shrewsbury. has offers from some nice school: Iowa, Miami, Oklahoma, Providence, Xavier.

Any shot FM gets him to Amherst?

I would like to suggest that we restart with a new thread and kill this one. Tony's name should never be uttered or seen here in an active thread again almost like HWSNBN

If we could pull off landing Andre, the back court would be stacked pretty good. Hopefully it wouldn't make Garcia leave.

Ty Marcus for reminding young players of what was done in Amherst!

TAMU has been in touch with him too. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/tamu- ... c-program/

His list
Gonzaga
St. John’s
Georgia Tech
Pittsburgh
Kansas state
St. Mary’s
Clemson
