Good for McCall to hold members of the team accountable.

Hopefully Garcia fully accepts his responsibility as a Student-Athlete and gets it done!

I think I can safely say that we're all pulling for him to be successful!! 8)

McCall talked about JG in today's new Plant The Flag podcast, starting at the 10:45 mark.

He fell a bit behind on his classwork, got it straightened out while he sat out the past few games.

^ Just listened to it. Didn't realize he had to play the last game wearing a mask. Hope that's over with now as you can't possibly be effective wearing a mask.

FYI - Every high school basketball player, boys and girls, in Massachusetts has played with a mask since last season.

why did he have to wear a mask? If he has to wear a mask while he is playing, why isn't McCall and the coaches wearing one?

Damn. He gets to the rim and can be a lock down defender. I really like his game.

I agree with the above "damn". He was #3 on my list of guys I was hoping would not transfer, behind Noah and TJ. He's one heck of an athlete and I think will be a difference maker wherever he ends up. Best of luck to JG.

how will they ever replace 6 points and 1 assist per game. Martin will bring in two guys that will be better than him. I liked Garcia but I didn't think he was that good.

hate to see him leave. Seemed to me when he got big minutes, e.g., the few times he had to start, he did well. Perhaps he needs those big minutes and didn't see them likely with Coach Martin.

Is he not that good, or was he misused / under-utilized by the last staff? Certainly debatable, and Curry Hicks Sage on Twitter would say the latter.

Best wishes to JG for finding a good fit at his next stop.

Good luck JG. I had some high hopes that he'd thrive under Martin, but I guess it wasn't in the cards.
