Official UMass stats is correct. Sometimes when data gets out there it's difficult to correct.
Re: KAEO Kolton Mitchell
I'm not sure it's in Kolton's best interest to red-shirt. Right how he's our #2 PG but next season he's gonna have to compete with Javohn Garcia for that role. It could help him to get more experience, develop his skills, show the coaches his "team first" attitude. In other words, get a head start. He could do that by playing even just ten games. Otherwise, next fall he's basically a freshman just like Garcia.

I saw on Twitter that Kolton is feeling optimistic after his most recent doctor visit

^ He was quoted earlier after his injury saying he'd be back sooner than later . . . so much for that!

McCall said he's available today if needed

Just saw him playing!

If he can sustain it like that, he is going to quickly leapfrog over several guys for minutes.
Edit: And he didn't. His minutes so far this half have been very tough.

Re: KAEO Kolton Mitchell
Give him time to work into the system.
Re: KAEO Kolton Mitchell
It's hard to recall what Kolton brought to the team since he only played in 2 games for 14 total minutes. He will help both Keon and Sean and he'll give MM another offense/defense option when he gets in game shape.
Regarding Dibaji - I'll give him a few more games before I reserve judgement. We have to remember that he didn't join the team until mid September and didn't practice much with the first unit because we didn't know if he would be cleared.

Re: KAEO Kolton Mitchell
If Keon grad transfers as many have speculated I feel comfortable with Kolton stepping into those minutes. Not sure he has the toughness of Keon but the hustle and defense seem to be his calling card as well and I think he's a better ball handler than Keon. The only thing (possibly) missing would be the shooting ability as Keon has become a bit of a threat from deep - especially in the corner.
All that said, glad Mitchell is back. We'll need him for conference play.

Glad he's back, too, and I don't want Keon to leave. He's setting the standard right now for UMass Baskestball.

Keon has an absolutely great attitude and is a great example for the young guys. He never plays soft

I completely agree with you both. Love Keon, hope he stays.
