Re: 2022 Recruiting
I wonder how long we've been on this kid.. seemed pretty under the radar. He looks to be a dynamic player, with HM offers.
I want McCall to succeed, and he seems to be finding his voice. If we land this kid, given the situation, that'd bode pretty well for McCall and the program.

I expect the meneifield kid to end up at Washington
Re: 2022 Recruiting
You were correct. We're not desperate for a PG in 2022 but it would have been a good get. We need 2 bigs next year, maybe 1 transfer and 1 freshman.

Washington gets a commitment from point guard Keyon Menifield Jr., who picks the Huskies over offers from Boston College, UMass, and Eastern Michigan.
Re: 2022 Recruiting
^ I wouldn't be surprised, or worried, if UMass doesn't get any class of 2022 commits before March.
It might be by choice - McCall can focus on transfers to fill needs. But a big component is probably that he'll be recruiting uphill unless/until there's more clarity on his employment status at UMass. At the end of this season, McCall is either going to be extended, fired, or leave for another job, and everyone knows it.

Re: 2022 Recruiting
This is probably true — could lead to unbalanced classes but I don’t even know how much that matters in this new landscape.
Interesting though that Hopkins was able to get his commitment. He’s about 20 games under .500 in his last two years so I would think his seat is a bit hot — maybe his early success has bought him some security or maybe the lure of a P5 and that school in particular swayed the kid enough. I have no idea.

Re: 2022 Recruiting
So we had 4 coaches front and center for Beagle and he commits to Albany over UMass. I mean, that says it all..TheOFFSeason wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 3:50 pmAll 4 there…front and center for Beagleinthescoop wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 12:10 am I’m hoping that the entire UMass coaching staff was the NEPSAC Classic recruiting.

Re: 2022 Recruiting
First post in this thread since 11/2. I think this speaks volumes about our recruiting profile this year. If we are actually recruiting, here's a guy we might want to take a look at:
12/27/2021 - La Salle 2019 SG Sherif Kenney (6-4, 215, 4★) will be transferring. - Per Adam Ayalew, Prep Hoops
12/27/2021 - Saint Joseph's 2019 SG Rahmir Moore (6-3, 205, 2★) will be transferring to Wagner. - Per Adam Zagoria, ZagsBlog
12/27/2021 - Dayton 2021 PG Lynn Greer III (6-3, 185, 4★) will be transferring.
Also, some A10 transfer news:jake lieberman
@jakelieberman2
New Mexico's sophomore forward Gethro Muscadin has entered the transfer portal, he's told me. Muscadin averaged 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds this season.
Before UNM, he was at Kansas.

Re: 2022 Recruiting
^ Very sad news regarding Muscadin. Hate to hear this about anyone.

Last night Gethro Muscadin and a friend were involved in a serous one car accident. He, his friend, and their families need a miracle. Please lift them up as Gethro fights for his life.

Interesting list of schools with no 2022 commitments: https://twitter.com/BasketHoopz/status/ ... Gppag&s=19

^ Not the list to be on, IMO.

12/31/2021 - 2022 SF Adam Dudzinski (6-8, 165, 2★) committed to Saint Rose.
We had offered him, as well as Siena and Manhattan.
