Assuming the worst and he has season ending surgery it looks like it will cost him a year of eligibility. He has played in 10 games. If the 30% rule applies to regular season he has no chance. If it applies to all games we would have to play 34 games (not likely) and 30% would be 10.2 games.

Let's hope it's something he can heal from and get back in a reasonable time.

Let's not push the panic button yet.

Did I hear it was an abdominal injury? Maybe a muscle strain in the abdominals is what I'm thinking. If so that wouldn't be a long term thing, I think. But I'm not a medical doctor, just a phd...

He must go to classes and people recognize him. So I find it hard to believe that someone has not asked him about his situation and reported it here.

^ Has anybody tweeted his mom? She's pretty active on twitter. I would but I'm not on twitter.

I would put this in the "respect his privacy" category. McCall has said it's a non sports related abdominal injury and out of respect for TJ, he's not going into more detail than that. I don't know why anyone would be tweeting at his mom to dig deeper. McCall said on the podcast that it's a pain tolerance issue and if he can tolerate the pain, he can play, but he may end up having a procedure done. That's good enough for me, I don't need to know exactly what issue he's having. If Walfish and Touri want to dig, however, let them dig.

As a student who graduated recently the way student athletes are treated by students are very different from your expectation. If students interact with student athletes they rarely talk about the team. Most teams stick together no one is running up to guys asking them about injuries. The closest you will get is someone saying are you good and the athlete going yeah I’ll be good

Jeesh, you must be privy to a lot of conversations if you know how all of these student/student-athlete interactions go down and how often sports comes up as a subject.

Considering the time I spent around many of them in class in dining halls on group projects etc I feel pretty confident in my statement. On the whole not a lot of fanning out over athletes on campus and any talk about them and the team is general or not specific.

^ I like reading this.

A bit refreshing in these days of tweeting everything to see it is a nunya illness. Nunya business.

I have met TJ's mom and not surprisingly, she is 100% invested in UMBB and TJ's role. I was only half-kidding when I suggested that someone who has a twitter account should contact her.

Unfortunately we don't have answers just yet, but they are working on it. Just know that Tj wants nothing more but to be back on the hardwood with his brothers!
