Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell
IF he is “down to his last 5” and updating and building up to his big announcement (oh, the drama!) I couldn’t be more ready to have Tre become an ex-Minuteman. Fuck these type of guys. I hope Tre gets the virtual blow job and Twitter love that he needs, that TB finds his dream job, and Mrs TB enjoys Champaign-Urbana. They can all settle in and get comfy questioning Brad Underwood while feeling extra special. Maybe Mrs TB can even signal to Illini players on the bench to deliver messages to Tre during the game. I’m sure that will play well in middle Illinois or wherever the hell he ends up.

Tre’s “top 5” tweet meant the joke he quoted was top 5 not that he was down to a top 5 haha

I think Tre acquitted himself quite well while at UMass. This whole business that he didn't play hard on defense, I'm not buying. I do think, like Jayson Tatum, having COVID took its toll on Tre and that it took him a while to recover. Although I think his best chance at playing professionally was to be a big fish in a smaller pond, I certainly respect his desire to play at a higher level. Just because his step-dad to be overplayed his hand should not be a reflection of Tre's character. I am a fan and will be rooting for him to reach his goals.
Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell
wouldn't be surprised to see Illinois for Tre, with their top C going pro and #2 (Hamlin) transferring.

Wait is the signaling a thing that happened?JoleonLescottsHair wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 6:37 pm IF he is “down to his last 5” and updating and building up to his big announcement (oh, the drama!) Yes. It was at the 2 games I sat next to her.
Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell
Generally, I agree with most of this. I'm not too hyped about his defense, based on a sample size of about seven watched games and the redunkulous number of layups we gave up on defense. Could also be a function of our system which Tre wasn't allowed to excel. Also, he had to fight off a really unusual family/game (aka: job) balance. The game will speed up for him in a tougher conference and if that is where he heads, then good luck to him. Hopefully he doesn't get too much interference from outside the gym.Not Trigger wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 8:11 pm I think Tre acquitted himself quite well while at UMass. Wonder how he'd be if he was here without TB. Just like any other kid on the team, without that dynamic.
Wish he stayed, but hope he gets what he wants out of his college experience
I enjoyed watching him play here

Those weren't crying laughing emojis, but that's entirely possible.

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell
It appears there will be an assistant coaching opening at Illinois.
I saw that one of Kentucky's assistants took a job as an assistant at Arizona State. Orlando Antigua, who was an assistant for Cal before at Kentucky (and Memphis) is rumored to leaving Illinois and coming back to Kentucky.
I don't know if this has any effect on Tre and/or Bergeron.

Re: KAEO: Tre Mitchell
How about this benign explanation for Tre leaving? It's all about the change in the transfer rule. The original plan was 3 yrs, right? He was gonna play here three years and the go pro or maybe grad transfer, in order to get his step-father a career breakthrough. But once they changed the transfer rule, really no longer any reason to stick around. Plus their house burned down. (My previous benign theory.)
