I f I can remember I think that DK brought in a sport psychologist before the season every so often and probably during the season.

Probably a good idea with all the new players/freshman. Going to be a lot of competition, its a new atmosphere for a lot of new guys at a new school, being in college etc. Its a big change/challenge for young kids. Anything that helps people stay focused and together as a team is a great thing

Great idea. This could be a big benefit for student athletes. Looks like the application has been out there for a couple of weeks now.

I stumbled across this earlier today. Not sure how many of you look at 247Sports, but I hadn't seen this before. It's a list of our highest rated recruits since 2003. A lot of familiar names and as expected, they got some right and they got some wrong. I found it a fun read.

On value versus recruting ranking - James Jimmy Life was our highest value pickup. C Lowe is probably a close second....

Anybody remember what Stephane Lasme was rated coming in? I remember I had an old Playstation game his freshman year and he was criminally underrated. How about Freeman?

I loved those two together.

One thing to keep in mind is that transfers aren't included on that list, even if they were ranked coming out of high school. Idk how much that'd skews things, but yeah.

Lasme was the one that came to mind when talking about value vs ranking, but the more I think about it, he may not have had any ranking at all.

Didn't Jesse Morgan transfer in? Or at least commit elsewhere and then come to UMass. I think he sat out a bunch of his first year. He's on that list.

Signed with Seton Hall, non-qualifier, so he couldn't go there. Went to prep school , South Kent, and left after first semester to enroll at UM.

How much does it suck that I'm watching a game being coached a former UMass player, being announced by a former UMass coach, and I'm posting on this board where yet again, we're concerned about the state of the program.

Tre and his soon-to-be stepfather are off to what they think will be greener pastures.

Three former Minutemen are dancing. Pat Kelsey and Winthrop are dancing.

Even hated former URIne coach Danny Hurley is dancing and with along time hated rival, no less. The Springfield Newspaper prints more stories about UConn hoops than it does about UMass. WTF!

So many players and coaches have had stops at UMass only to go on to enjoy the success we hoped they'd enjoy here, somewhere else!

Why is stability so elusive for UMass Hoops?

The key is to hire the right coach as has been proven by Hockey and Women's Hoops. I guess we are stuck with McCall for one more year due to buyout but does anyone on here think he will be retained next March?
