We offered on 5/7/21. He's now class of '22.JoleonLescottsHair wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 5:04 pmMaybe it is an old offer before the Kelly’s committed. I think it is common to have tons of offers out there at any one point.DoctorJ wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 4:34 pm https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/chase-ross
Why would we offer a SG for this season? Other person(s) must be leaving.

Re: 2021 Recruiting
Still waiting for us to fill that final (I hope it's the final) slot. I've noticed that we've recently made offers to a bunch of 2023 and 2024 players. There's probably no harm in doing this but is there any real advantage?
Re: 2021 Recruiting
Yes, advantage exists if we nail a hot recruit it helps Matt keep the job.

It’s aau season so it’s when recruiting picks up for future classes
Re: 2021 Recruiting
^ You don't stop recruiting because if you're still at UMass you'll want to have been recruiting all along, and if you get fired you want to have been recruiting players so you have those connections/relationships for when you get your next job.
Re: 2021 Recruiting
I absolutely agree with you.
Some here accuse one of our former coaches with not doing exactly that and "leaving the cupboard bare" when he left for a pile of money.
It is easy to be a Monday Morning QB on all of these things. Personally I do not think the Cupboard was bare in that case. In DKs case his "superclass" hightailed it out of here as soon as they were told they would be held responsible and lose all their "perks" - leaving a far more barren cupboard than he inherited when he arrived. The irony of all of that is a bitch.
Yes I know - let it go DK is long gone.... That fucker stole money from the University as far as I am concerned and I am not ready to let that go quite yet.

Ody committed to Cincinnati.
Davidson got a really nice fit as well, Michigan State PG Foster Loyer committed to the Wildcats.
Re: 2021 Recruiting
FYI, we have 6 more weeks to worry about anyone else leaving:
All current athletes who want to use the new transfer rule and be immediately eligible for the 2021-22 academic year will have until July 1, 2021 to notify their current school that they'll be transferring. In future years, that deadline will be May 1

So what’s the situation now with available scholarships?
