Rich Kelly is damn good! I saw him play vs Miami and he scored 27 points. Nice pickup right there...but wonder who's leaving? Hopefully it's DD and not Cairo...DD won't see the floor this year so I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves. Kolton seems likely to leave as well.

As of now we wouldn't need anybody to leave. IF the CJ Kelly report is true, and I hope it is, we would need one player to leave.

Agreed that DD or Kolton seems the most likely. Hopefully its not Cairo, Ronnie, or JG if anyone does leave.

I'm starting to really like this roster.

We will have ball handlers for days next year, wow this is super important for A-10 basketball. The Rich Kelly signing is huge!

Can't we take extra scholarships this year?

I hope McCall knows what he's doing. As the old adage says, it's not the team with the best players that wins but the team that plays the best.

^100%

Transfer strategy didn’t work in year 2 and I just hope the new guys are coming in with very specific roles and understanding of how they fit with returning guys. Let’s assume they do because they seem like they can help...if the mix is right.

I really like the Rich Kelly commitment. I remember him playing for Fairfield Prep, very heady player and a high character guy from what I remember.

We're likely to have a lot of guys good enough to play and not enough minutes for them all.

^ We do this every year. Pre-season everyone thinks "we're 12 players deep and there's not enough minutes to go around", and then a few guys get injured, guys don't play as well as we expected, and by the latter part of the season we're playing games with 7 active players and we wish we had more guys who are A10 caliber.

I like guys that can dribble and shoot - I feel like you can never have enough of them. Haven’t seen much of Kelly but it sounds like he can dribble and shoot.

We don’t have a #1 banana (and probably not a #2 for that matter) but we’ve got a bunch of #3 and #4’s. Not sure how what the ceiling is, but I feel a little bit better then earlier in the season when it sounded like a few more guys were on their way out. Yes I realize that’s like saying you felt better once the gonorrhea cleared up, but hey...I’ll take it.

Hopefully no more (or at least no more big) defections and let’s see what McCall does with yet another fresh start. It’s got to be his last one.

And now I’m wondering who the new assistant is going to be.

I agree. MM needs to bring in someone with a track record of player development and hopefully some HC experience.

The culture better be good because they're not all gonna get the minutes they want. Looks to be a nice mix with depth, but will they all buy in and play together?

^ I'm seeing all the incoming transfers are role players, maybe Steadman getting more minutes just because we don't have many options at that position. I think the returning players that were impactful players last year (DeGray, Weeks, Garcia, Fernandez, Santos, Walker, and Cairo) will have larger roles than any of the new guys.

I think Buttrick will be fine as a role player, it seems like that's what he's used to. I hope Rich Kelly fits in well and accepts his role because I don't see him playing ahead of what I consider to be a very good existing guard group.

Would guess he is going to promote from within the staff...hard to recruit an accomplished assistant when it looks like a 1 year job.

All the transfers coming from losing teams, RK has been a scorer on bad teams for 4 years, similar situation to the past transfers but a better, more together, group coming back that they are joining, so..
