NCAA Investigating UCONN for recruiting violations
Re: NCAA Investigating UCONN for recruiting violations
My son was coached by a Hall of Fame NHL player. During one conversation, he said to me, "I see it. I know what will happen. I just can't understand why the players can't see the play the same way I do."

Makes total sense. The best coaches seem to be those that came get the players to see the plays they developed. Brad Stevens for example as a hoops coach. He is able to make his vision reality for the players. In fact many players say things like he puts us in the right places. The great players seem to not be able to undo their greatness.

Was your son coached by Wayne Gretzky? This is pretty much exactly the reason Gretzky gave for why he wasn't a good coach.

Yep, much more fun to hate on Ucon when they have a D-bag coach.

Guess Hurley thinks a NCAA investigation isn't going anywhere? Same with Louisville who thinks it will snag a top tier coach? And Pitt allegedly talking to Sean Miller doesn't seem concerned. Guess their high price diligence teams are satisfied or naïve or I am.

Make it a 3rd now. Lukas Kisunas also decommits. That leaves Hurley with 0 players in the 2018 class.
UMass needs some international presence and being a local kid playing at Brewster Academy, I really hope we go after him.

Don't we have kids from Australia, Africa, and Haiti? That's a fairly decent International presence.

I guess we have different definitions of the word solid. Next year 3 players will be from outside the US. That seems fairly solid. To me at least. But if you want Divac, Petrovic, Sabonis, Nowitzki that's cool too, dude.

I mean I didn't know that 1 year is equivalent to the whole history of the UMass basketball program. I just don't understand how you can say UMass basketball has had a solid presence of international ball in the past.. only player that pops up in people's minds right away is Lasme.
Also, do we even know if Laurent or Clergeot were born in Haiti? Or are they just Haitian, but born and raised in Florida and you're considering them as international.
In the the 90+ years of UMass basketball have we ever had a player out of Europe on our roster? Would be interesting to know. Maybe I can even prove myself wrong.

I am not going to complain about an international presence, but I don't really understand why we need an international presence....
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

Brings a different mentality and basketball IQ to the court. Especially for non P5 basketball programs. I'm not saying that we need it per se, I am saying that coaches should be more open minded to it. I am sure that Davidson, Gonzaga and St. Mary's fans are not complaining at all right now.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 3:08 pm I am not going to complain about an international presence, but I don't really understand why we need an international presence....
