By the way, my comment about Samba's youtube is that he doesn't seem to have a lot of hops, doesn't play about the rim very much.
edit: Just was surprised by the youtube because we heard so much about his athleticism.
Are we watching the same highlight clips? Half his highlights are athletic layups or dunks

^ In the clips I watched I saw what Len did. What impressed me was his knack for getting the ball in the basket from a variety of angles. TV had that ability. If he got the ball close to the hoop he could score, without having "great hops".

From what I've heard/read he's supposed to be pretty athletic. I don't take too much from highlight videos, but I think he looks pretty good athletically and that he gets to where he wants to go and finishes in traffic. Not sure I look at a lack of dunking in them as a cause for concern in the leaping ability department.

My only concern with him is his health given the knee injury. Once he passes some health hurdles, I think he's going to be really good, sooner than later.

All I'm saying is every highlight video I've seen has had 3-4 explosive dunks. However a good layup packages is worth a lot more than dunks and he showed he had versatile skill set around the basket in those clips

He may be the only one in the arena who speaks Wolof, do you think?

I would expect there are other people on campus who speak Wolof. They might show up for a game just because Dialla does, too.

Maybe we'll learn some Wolof shout-outs this season :)

Time for some BB news. From A10talk.com - I like it more because it was written by a Dayton guy.

Anyone hear anything about the extent of Samba's injury? Hope its not related to the knee surgery he had before

Walfish reported today that he had surgery to relieve the pain in his knee. Sounded like it was minor, as the report said it would be a short rehab.

Samba's thread deserves an update after his numbers last night: 12 pts, 12 rebs, 6 assists (led team), 3 steals

Walfish focused on his effort:

Samba had a double-double in the previous game (at SLU) also, with 11 & 14.
