Honestly, IF anything, it was more of a nibble than a bite. Seemed to happen too quickly to bite

We all knew that Deekey had a lot of talent but the problem for him has always been between the ears.

Rumor has it that he also bit Pat Kelsey and McCall when they wouldn’t meet his demands. Check for bite marks.

^ Didn't see this when it was first posted. I'd believe it.

Rothstein projects DJ to leave school and enter his name in the draft. He has been in college for 4 years, but he still has a year of eligibility left. That'd be a shock.

This ESPN early Top 25 preview says the same thing, about Jarreau possibly testing the waters.

I'll admit that I didn't watch any of their games this year, but his numbers on paper don't seem to support he's going to have much of a shot at the big time.
  • Didn't make any of the AAC all-conference teams this year, and the biting incident certainly didn't help that.
  • Shot a hundred points less this year (.374) than last year (.471).
  • Not a 3 point shooter in a league that increasingly loves the 3. He shot 7-40 (.175) this season.
  • 1.3 assist:turnover ratio this season, down from the past two years.
  • So he's not a great shooting guard and not a great point guard, so where's he going to fit?
Unless school just isn't working out for him, there's no reason not to play another year in college and improve his game.

I think he is a bit premature to be testing the waters. Likely to return with those numbers.

Not surprised to hear this. The eligibility rules pretaining to the draft changed a few years back so players do this often to get looked at by professional scouts and get told what they have to work on. I'd be shocked if he didn't return to school.

I remember Anthony Gurley's water testing.

Rothstein doesn't project him as part of the returning roster, so in his mind DJ's not only testing the waters, but staying in the draft.

We could use another point guard, couldn't we?
