Dwayne Killings
Dwayne Killings
Our old walk-on, who has become a successful assistant coach, most-recently at Temple, is said to be named to the staff at UConn.

So unfortunately, that makes it pretty much impossible for us to root for the guy anymore

Unless, of course, UConn wins big for two or three years and we have our next head coach....
In all seriousness, I am torn. I love Dwayne. Great local guy. I fucking detest UConn.

Re: Dwayne Killings
He'll join another local guy and alomost UMass player, Kevin Freeman, on their staff.

He loved John Calipari, the UMass coach, and believed he was destined to go there. He’ll never forget the day when news broke that UMass had gone a different direction by signing someone else at Freeman’s position.

Re: Dwayne Killings
Look to the left for a Dwane photo. He was in the process of setting a UMass record by graduating with a 1.000% record for treys.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."
Re: Dwayne Killings
I have hated UConn considerably less since Ollie became the head coach.

I found it funny that he said:Old Cage wrote:Look to the left for a Dwane photo. He was in the process of setting a UMass record by graduating with a 1.000% record for treys.
And for me, having not been a heralded basketball player who never scored a meaningful bucket in college, I’ve had to go through it in kind of a different way for my professional career.

Re: Dwayne Killings
It's a lot harder for me to hate UConn with Kevin Ollie leading the program. I just like the guy (of course, I also liked the fatty-smoking pudgeball of a point guard who's name I have thankfully forgotten).

Marquette assistant Dwayne Killings played for Indiana assistant Bruiser Flint as a walk-on when Flint was the head coach at UMass. Life comes full circle tonight in Bloomington.
I know that this has been posted before (see above in this thread), but for new guys here - Really full circle: the photo at the left was taken by Mr. UMassHoops.com of Dwayne hitting a three while playing for Bru.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."
Re: Dwayne Killings
If there's another/newer Killings thread, I apologize. This was the first one I saw in search.

I'm sure I'm not alone here eyeing Dwayne as our next HC.
