I shudder to think about our 4 and 5 positions next season. Maybe Jay Wright can come in a teach a summer course on the 4 guard offense because we will need it. Yikes.

2 for 11 3 pt shooting. 18%. Add in sloppy turnovers no defense 32% shooting . Yikes.

Just stay healthy and get back to civilization. This team plays faster than their heads can handle. I'm pretty sure Cady is the only one who knows how to up-fake. LSU is just as athletic as we are they are just a touch smarter with the ball and that was the difference. Home Court might have helped a little. Just a shitty night all the way around. Puke city.

That was an old fashion ass-kickin

Gonna be a long, long Lappas-esque year.

First time I've been really disappointed in their play this year. Other games have had some bad stretches but this whole game was rough. That's about all I've got. On to the next one. I'm sure it's going to be a shitshow in here.

I like our balance. We had four guys in double figures.

I don't understand why we haven't recruited even one shooting specialist in the past two two years.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

Agreed. If you think we have no front court depth this year, wait until next season. And didn't someone here say their guards suck?JoleonLescottsHair wrote:I shudder to think about our 4 and 5 positions next season. Hey all, I haven't posted in sometime but I have been watching this team play this season and after tonites performance...yikes. Look I grew up with DK and think he's a good recruiter and a good face for the program however his "in game" coaching leaves a lot to be desired. Virtually no plays are called on the offensive end and when you have a player like Cady, this kid should be better than he is. We are what we are with Derek as coach. In contention for the NCAA tourney year in and year out....what we do when we get there is anyones guess.
My biggest question is why on earth is Seth Berger a starter and playing big minutes? He's not good.

Welp, I'm depressed. That sucked. Good night.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

Hard to say. Too focused on MAC football maybe?njumass08 wrote:I don't understand why we haven't recruited even one shooting specialist in the past two two years.

Just a terrible terrible matchup for us. No one can shoot the ball consistently and the ones I want to shoot just to see if they can (Clark, Berger) consistently pass up jumpers and defer to DG, Trey, Cady, Maxie. Realistically, the way we played today will work against most teams in the A10, but definitely not teams like this. I actually think we played pretty well the first 10 mins of the 2nd half, we just got swallowed up by LSUs length and athleticism. LSU probably played their best game of the year but, again, this was pretty much the perfect matchup for them. Honestly reminded me a lot of the Tennessee game.
I think a lot of us told ourselves (or the board) that we needed to take one of LSU, BYU, or Providence. That's still in play. I'm not super discouraged after this, long road trip against a talented team after a very very physical game on Saturday. Just hope our boys can move on from this one quickly.

That was just terrible. The team needs to stew on this during a long bus ride home.
