Re: KAEO Brad Calipari (2016)
Brad Cal > Jordan Couture.
Would love to have him as a walk-on and I don't care how good or bad he is. Maybe Cal retires and becomes an assistant and coaches here for his kid's final two years.
One can dream, no?

Hope you all noticed where he is going to school this year.
Stop by and watch him play.

Re: KAEO Brad Calipari (2016)
Since Brad has not received offers from top 50 schools, I would guess that he is not considered a priority recruit. I hope he does walk on as he is probably a great kid. UMass needs to go after some more 4 star players. Only then are the odds on our side to be better than we have been in the last 10 years.

^ Sorry..I did like the links you used. Now I know the value of Waffle Houses!
Re: KAEO Brad Calipari (2016)
EDIT: I have been told from someone who knows that the kid has D1 talent and it's just a mater of what level. Let the speculation continue but he's in Spfld so people in WMass can watch him and make their own informed decision.Swampy wrote:Saying you would use a scholarship on him at this point is simply crazy talk, imo.
Re: KAEO Brad Calipari (2016)
I more curious to see him play than I am about most local talent. He's in Granby, by the way, not Spfld. I always thought of MacDuffie as a day school, I wonder if they have a residence hall. Now this is weird--I presume he can't have dinner at Uncle Derek's house per NCAA rules.

Tom Westerholm wrote:The Caliparis have ties to Western Massachusetts. John Calipari's first head coaching job was at UMass from 1988 to 1996, a period that included five Atlantic 10 titles. Although Brad wasn't born in the area, those ties may have also played a part in his decision to attend MacDuffie. Being close to UMass, (coach) Derek Kellogg is close," John said. I think MacDuffie is in the old Holyoke Catholic campus off rt 202 in Granby. The complex is huge so i'd imagine they have housing.uz2b-len wrote:I more curious to see him play than I am about most local talent. He's in Granby, by the way, not Spfld. Dad's game check from last night took care of the kids' next 4 years at Umass so I am thinking save the ship..... Umass is getting the money whether he donates it or pays it in tuition...njumass08 wrote:You have to take him as a walk-on if he wants to come. Just absolutely the right thing to do. I wouldn't even mind using a scholarship on him.
Re: KAEO Brad Calipari (2016)
Didn't Calipari have something in one of his contracts about his kids or daughter's education paid for as part of the contract? Thought I read that somewhere

Agree. He seems like a walk-on type guy anyways.eldonabe wrote:Dad's game check from last night took care of the kids' next 4 years at Umass so I am thinking save the ship..... Erin Calipari attended UMass and graduated a few year's ago. She lived in a condo in Amity place just outside of campus. Only reason I know this is a good friend was one of her neighbors in that same complex.
