My apologies for the error earlier about who we played and when we played them, too much Swampy Jim Beam tonight...

With that said, there are 4.6 million people in the metro Boston area. Yes, that it .4 million less people than the DC area, but we were ranked #19 at the time and only drew 600 more people... honestly, who is more pathetic?

He's an awful ref who I'm not sure if he's not the college version of Donaghy. I've never seen him be remotely competant and calls ghost calls at least 5 times a game.
His name is Brian O'Connell, FYI.

Had taped the game and just finished watching it...wow. There is nothing this team can't over come. For the next game though, I would like to see a blow out for once.
Oh my god, they love state schools out here.

And we STILL might finish with the best record we've had in 18 years and make the dance!

15-1!
There's a weird belief that either since this team is ranked THEY SHOULD NEVER LOSE A GAME AGAIN, or NEVER PLAY POORLY or the ranking isn't deserved. It's both mentally incompetent and comical. Teams don't play consistently well EVERY GAME, and often times lose. We haven't lost more than once and we've played horrendously a few times BUT STILL WON. That's the sign of a good team, if we weren't a good team we'd lose like Colorado/Oregon/Duke/UK have been doing.

One thing that I think shows good coaching or leadership. After DG made the bucket, everyone ran to their spots for the inbound. No one ran around to celebrate like Freeman.

Man, not pretty, but a win is a win. Much like a lady at closing time :D

IV - Fairfax is 20 miles from DC. Those 4 million people are within 40 miles of Fairfax. There might be 200,000 people within 40 miles of UMass.

FYI - that was the worst defensive performance of the year for both teams

Maybe what just happened only means they'll lose every game from here on in if they don't make whatever adjustments that that guy who posted earlier said they need to make, but I'll still take an experience like this over a loss every single god damned time. All the better if it's the 15th win out of the 16 games they've been scheduled to play so far.
Holy shit! Welcome back Wiggum! Your not here to talk about firing Bruiser are you?
I'd be overjoyed to revisit how right I was about how catastrophic Bob Marcum's decisions were. But, no it's not why I'm here. I just chimed in because hahahahaha people wringing their hands over tonight instead of giving somebody a high-five.

I'm not sure those #s are right. The Boston metro area only has a north, south and west radius... the DC metro area has a larger north, south, west and even a small amount of east area. On top of that, Baltimore is much bigger than Providence.

On top of that, it would be easier for 10k to get to the Mullins from the ~90
miles away from downtown than it would be for the same amount to get from downtown DC to get to the GM campus at the same time on a given Wednesday.

We have no excuse. It is IMPOSSIBLE to call them a PATHETIC fan base when we only drew 600 more fans than they did last Wednesday.

IV - don't we generally consider our fanbase pathetic? Also, UMass actually has had very good attendance when ranked teams have played at the Bill.

IV, our fan base is getting there. We've had sellout crowds this season, and some good ones even during student intersession. If you're dissatisfied, instead of posting putdowns of our fanbase, perhaps you can instead go out and recruit more people to go to the games. I know you probably do that already, but just in general these kinds of posts are peeves of mine...sorry for the rant.
