KAEO Jaylen Franklin (2016)
Re: KAEO Jaylen Franklin (2016)
I can understand using the Kermit Davis example - he is a really good coach (even if he does have a show cause penalty in his past) but Brian Gregory? The dude has been to 2 NCAA Tournaments in 15 years of coaching and flamed our at GT. Sure his team is better this year but they did suck his first year and they are still under .500 in conference play this year for all the improvements. Better sure, but I would not use Brian Gregory in any great coaching examples. He was fine at Dayton, bad at GT (which is a tough job) and who knows how it is going to end up at USF.
And once again, there are plenty of folks placing blame on McCall in here, for some weird reason you don’t seem to want to see that.

Well and hold up now, someone really wants to tell me that Ole Miss, with all its SEC money, has it tougher than UMass?
Money for assistants, money for "wowing" recruits on visits... and if they're anything like their football team maybe more, and a conference that could get eight bids? Ok. Poor poor Mr. Davis. A true $2.5M underdog.

Nope, I wasn't there. I think it is a safe guess that based on the three guys relationship with a few of the players on our roster, that yes they were there supporting their friends. And if you go back to my first post on this, I said friends, not UMass.UMassfan_19 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 4:01 pm
Were you even there? I don't think he is a bad kid or care much about him. I wish him the best of the luck. But saying he was supporting is a stretch based of his body language every time I looked over
I do find it odd that you seemingly spent more time watching their body language than the game, though.

Yeah, I'm sure since they're at LIU and the tourney was at Barclays, they went to check out their friends. Kids just hanging with friends and watching some hoop

In regards to conference competition, yes, it’s much tougher than the A10. I’m guessing Mass is probably at the top of the league in terms of budget and facilities.McKinney wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:42 pm Well and hold up now, someone really wants to tell me that Ole Miss, with all its SEC money, has it tougher than UMass?

If you are sitting in a place where they are in the line of sight of every possession at that end of the court it's easy to see how they reactInnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 7:41 amNope, I wasn't there. It's a bad look that they had tickets right behind the bench IMO. It's indicative of the lack of care about the perception of the program by some on the team

In the SEC, as long you beat the "bottom feeders" you can crack 0.500 in-conference and make the NCAAT. So while the competition is tougher than the A10, in the SEC it's relatively easier to be "nationally relevant".Merlin Samuels wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 8:14 am In regards to conference competition, yes, it’s much tougher than the A10.

I think you can never see the bad in things. Kid was there because he got a free ticket to a basketball game. The idea of a walk on announcing his transfer is also highly comicalInnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 9:21 am I think you're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over thinking this. I see plenty of bad in things. You clearly haven't been on this board for a long time.
It's friends supporting their friends. Not a big deal at all and has been far too over analyzed already.

I go back to my prior comment. We have had way too much discussion about a walk on who decided to leave. It's a minor blip on the radar, and that's probably overstating it.

And as I said if sitting behind the bench with negative energy and zero emotion is how you support your friends I don't want you as my friendInnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:18 pm ^
