Absolutely. Andy Warhol must be smiling at all this attention. I think it is safe to say that no one will ever utter the words next season or ever that I wish this part time walkon player stayed.

And let's see if his love fest to Kellogg is enough that he brings him aboard to LIU.

I like that people complaining about the attention Jaylen is getting keep coming back to a thread with his name in the title to complain some more.

At least when I've complained about dead horses in the past it's been in threads that were hijacked. You know what this thread is about if you are sick of it, don't click on it.

In the SEC, as long you beat the "bottom feeders" you can crack 0.500 in-conference and make the NCAAT. So while the competition is tougher than the A10, in the SEC it's relatively easier to be "nationally relevant".
That has nothing to do with my comment that Ole Miss and USF are tougher jobs. They absolutely are tougher situations because of the surrounding competition. You act like “beating the bottom feeders” is easy. We are currently the bottom feeders!

My whole point is exemplified by pointing out two specific coaches, in two more difficult situations, achieving this goal. They didn’t need excuses, they won. They won with who they had and they won with roster turmoil. UNLV’s coach just got fired after year three at .500. That’s all McCall should get IMO. He’s got to have a pretty good season to get to .500.

In an ideal world, we'd cycle through the coaches that don't fit pretty quick. But the reality is we extended him through 2022-23.

When UMass hired him he signed a $3.25M five year contract. If we fire him at the end of next season, we'll probably owe McCall somewhere near $2M for the 3 remaining seasons.

I'll assume Bamford can expect your check in the mail for the buyout.

If we're still struggling it'll be hard for me to defend a mediocre coach/program. But I guess I'll just have to hope that McCall figures it out. Idk.

It’s funny to me that Franklin has gotten more attention leaving than he ever got while he was at UMass.

It was the same way when the NOLA duo left.

The two specific coaches you cited also make A LOT mor money than McCall...maybe we get what we pay for?

Kermit Davis makes $2.5 million/year (4 year $10 mil), plus has a $900K assistant coach salary pool.
Gregory got a 6 year $6.6 million deal, plus $750K assistant coach salary pool that increases by $25K every year of the deal

McCall got $3.25 mil for 5 years, plus $575K for assistants ($100K of which McCall took from his own salary)

True, Franklin has gotten more than enough attention since he said he was leaving. I'm guess a casual fan had no idea who he even is.

But the NoLo duo got plenty of attention even before they arrived on campus.

And as I said if sitting behind the bench with negative energy and zero emotion is how you support your friends I don't want you as my friend
I wish I had gone to that basketball game just to watch 3 guys behind the bench the whole time so I could accurately assess their energy and emotion on an internet message board. Holy hell.

No seriously, I wish I had paid to attend a game of a team I supposedly support to only pay attention to people in the stands. Sounds like a blast!

Solid multitasking right there, I tell ya!

He announced on social media he is transferring to Cumberland University (TN) which is a D1 NAIA school. I had to look up what the NAIA is and D1 in NAIA is comparable to NCAA Division II.

No idea if they even offer hoop scholarships at that level but hope he finds success.
