Lou Roe not on UMass bench tonight. He was watching son Sam'i notch his 1,000th point.

Congrats to Sam'i. Glad Lou was able to be there, he must miss many of his sons games. Still find it interesting that Sam'i has stayed at Hopkins as his talent is much better than WMass D4 basketball. Most really enjoy the school and his teammates. If that's the case then good for him, as most kids would of left a season or two ago.

Good to see he was watching his son last night. I was starting to get a bit worried. He had been off Facebook & Twitter for almost a month, and he was usually reliable for some regular motivational posts.

According to today Springfield paper, Lou is no longer coaching Putnam boys’ basketball team due to a personal decision. Springfield athletic director Dwayne Early declined to provide additional details on the circumstances surrounding Roe’s departure. He’d been there since 2021.

It's not a good look. I'm sorry to see this for one of my all-time favorite players.

Interesting... he brought the team to the Mullins in December or January for a game and did a nice halftime interview. Wonder what happened, and if it's related to the prior legal situation.

For those that might not know, Dwayne Early played BB for UMass for 1 year, probably as a walk on. His kid was a BB player and wide receiver at Central and recently committed to Buffalo for football. We might see him this season.

What was the prior legal problem?

^ IV called it "prior legal problem" for good reason.

I'd say define prior. He's gotten into trouble since the season started. That is what his leaving(fired) is about

I was referring to the stuff from when he was here (no idea how that all played out), hence prior. Obviously you're a bit more up-to-date on things in this situation... sounds like there's a "current" situation.
