Prayers for Lari Ketner
Prayers for Lari Ketner
Hey all, just rallying the troops here. Lari Ketner revealed on Facebook today that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer in July. Chemo soon. It's a tough one to beat, but good vibes from his UMass family certainly can't hurt.
Thinking about you and your family, Lari.

Lari Ketner
Tough to hear about a young guy like Lari having to battle cancer. With medicine being what it is today I hope they caught it early enough and that the outcome is very good.
UMass basketball people have to stick together and when a former player faces a health problem he needs to know there are people at UMass that really care. Lari did a tremendous job for UMass and he was a stud when UMass got him from Philadelphia. He was a force in the paint and Lari thanks for playing @ UMass and giving us great memories.
I wish you luck in your fight against cancer and you need to know that there are UMass people from all over the country pulling for you!

Re: Lari Ketner
If Ajmal's information is correct and it is Stage 4 then by definition it was not caught early enough. Stage 4 is metastasis to distant tissue which makes it very difficult to eradicate.tom mclaughlin wrote:... I hope they caught it early enough and that the outcome is very good...

I think anyone knows when you say stage 4 cancer it's not good. I have done volunteer work at Children's Hospital in Boston and to see some of those kids fight is amazing. Lari obviously has a difficult fight ahead but there are miracles happening every day and lets hope he's one of the lucky one's who beats this terrible disease. You can never count out the human spirit and the power of prayer. I'm sure we're all praying that Lari beats this thing and he's a fighter, which was evidenced every time he took a pounding in the paint, and I'm sure he'll fight this disease just as hard.
