There's almost always a connection:
Report that Chris Baldwin has committed to Texas Southern. Will have to sit next year under NCAA rules. Former UMass assistant Shyrone Chatman is at TSU, helped bring former Minutemen guard Donte Clark to the Tigers last year as a grad transfer.

Good news for all! Happy that Chris found a D1 program to play at. Seems like Texas Southern treated Donte Clark well, expect the same for Chris.

He was also good friends with the NOLA crew, I bet that played a factor as well in his final decision.

Incredible.

Ryan Leaf was so bad that it's actually impressive. This guy had a 4 game stretch in 1998 where he threw 0 TD's 10 INT's and a 15.0 Passer Rating.

Maybe you should start a thread for all of your Ryan Leaf observations and knock knock jokes.

Good for Chris. Hopefully it's a good fit with his personality and the coaching staff and they can work together to maximize his potential.

So, Chris will have to sit out a year? Add that to the approximately 1/2 year he was out due to injury? Long time to be away from the game. Hope he does well there, is happy there, and that he gets a marketable degree.

Anyone know why Chris didn't play in Texas Southern's first game? They were blown out so it looks like everyone who was dressed played.

Saw he just put up 27 with 5 threes in a six point loss against #8 Oregon. Think he’s been a bit inconsistent this year (always a bit of a knock against him) but maybe this is the start of something for him. And maybe getting away from home is helping him grow up a bit.

Or maybe I’m just looking at a box score and projecting things...
