^ Talented guy to be sure...but never an LS71 favorite.

I was sooo happy when UMass beat his team in the NCAA's in '96! 8)

This may be all for Marcus....to be waived by the Rockets mainly due to injury.

17 year NBA career is pretty impressive, but I could see Marcus playing again somewhere. When healthy I think he still has some gas left in the tank

Not even joking - Celtics should sign him.

Whatever he wants to do is cool with me, but I think he should consider throwing in the towel. He's had a great career.

I'd have no problem if he retired, but I hope he gets healthy and plays again. He can still contribute to a playoff team, I believe he still wants to play but he really needs for this injury to heal.

Maybe DK could get him to be an assistant coach? At least before Cal offers him that spot.

He is rehabbing an injury for 2/3 months... that is why he got cut. He expects to be back with houston once hes healthy. Hes not retiring.

^Good find, Signman. I snicker at the lack of quality links you sometimes post, but that's a terrific find. Really classy of Marcus.

Didn't know where to post this so this thread will do. The Sporting News ranks Cal's 10 best players. We have three of them:

Lame list. It explicitly says the criteria was contributions in college, not entire basketball (NBA) career.....then it lists a bunch of 1 year guys from Kentucky and Memphis. Camby should be ahead of Davis, no doubt. And Roe should be much higher as a 4 year player. Roe's senior year was better than most of those listed - nevermind the fact that he was productive in the other 3 as well.

And the omission of Jeff Meyer is criminal.
