They said Friday as they started that segment, and they're right, his big day is tomorrow.

Could have done without them mentioning how the Final Four was vacated, but it was still an overall positive segment.

Not sure when UMass changed Sam’s look, but my grandson, now 10, was terrified of Sam when he was younger. When kids could go onto the floor and shoot hoops post-game, he would cry and would not leave our seats until he saw Sam leave the arena.

Sam's look has gone through several updates over the years, each with varying degrees of charming and creepy. All infinitely more charming than the Billiken though.

I think it's an obligation for all mass media to always mention the vacated Final Four even though the NCAA is one of the most corrupt institutions in our nation's history.
