Yesterday morning, I was in Shanghai, China. I had a few minutes to burn waiting for my ride to the airport so turned on CCTV. The sportscast was on. And I heard, much to my surprise, about a new addition to the (Shanghai Sharks?) and how he contributed 15 points in the second quarter alone. He's going to be a great one, they said! Yes, it was Gary Forbes! Evidently he had a great game. He's getting serious airtime there and it was a great broadcast to hear. There is much excitement about his arrival.

Good in China luck Gary!

We hope to see you back in the NBA soon!

Looks like Gary is playing for the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions.

Here's an article.

Three steals in seven minutes! He must have had someone way overmatched.

No surprise there. Underwhelming game stats besides the three steals.

The Springfield Armor (Brooklyn Nets' affiliate) invited Gary to their camp:

Big Springfield Armor fan. I went to many of their games when I lived in WMass. They should have a good team this year too, including the return of my favorite non-Umass player, JamesOn Curry.

It seems JamesOn also not a big fan of Travis Ford

TFord really does seem to rub some people the wrong way.

Gary update...

He was playing with the Armor thru December, averaging almost 18 a game. Then on 12/27, he was deactivated and put on injury waiver, according to this page:
http://basketball.realgm.com/dleague/te ... on_History

The Republican said: "Forbes’ injury is undisclosed."

... but then a week later they reported a knee injury.

He tweeted 8 days ago that he had a "successful procedure", but not certain if he meant his knee.
