I saw Javorn Farrell play at the Grand Canyon University Arena when he played for Texas-Pan American. Does that count?

Cage, Mullins, @Miami, @FGCU, @UCF (twice), @Davidson, vs FSU. So far my road trips they are 0-6, not exactly a good luck charm.

Peoria, Arizona except June and July every year when I'm in Dennisport, MA. My wife is a teacher. I wasn't a student at UMass but did work there for 20 years.

My favorite season was watching Umass at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. 2008. First game early in the season was amazing. Ricky Harris and Gary Forbes lighting it up. NIT game later coming from 22 down. Just awesome. Only team to beat Syracuse twice on their court in same year.

Was at the first game there was amazing.

The NIT game and the come back was thrilling. Can remember walking down from those upper level seats and an orange fan yells to us that 'we got lucky'. I yell back 'you guys choked'. The best feeling was the next game at MSG after beating Florida in the semi's.bunkerhill87 wrote:My favorite season was watching Umass at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. 2008. Yes, McCall is from the Donovan, like Travis Ford.

Since 1958: Amherst (old, pre-66, Cage and new, post-66 Cage), Boston, Storrs, Orono, Anaheim and Atlanta.
Highlight: SE Regionals in Atlanta in '96, ripping Arkansas and Georgetown. At one point (as my fading memory recalls) they flashed on the scoreboard that UMass was 13-0 vs. Big East teams that season.

Geesh - I forget Old Cage was an upgrade. What the hell was the Old-Old cage? A barn with chickens and goats running around.
Re: Where Have You Seen UMass play?
Pretty sure it was the same dirt floor cage, but with only mezzanine level seating. No bleachers.

The Cage was renovated in 84/85. During that season, UMass played its games in the Springfield Civic Center.
Bleacher seating has always surrounded the court. When I was a student, between 68-71, season ticket holders accessed their seats on the mezzanine by entering through main entrance on the east side of the building.

Re: Where Have You Seen UMass play?
When it opened the Cage looked like this. (March 1932)
It appears there was temporary seating for events. Like this C.o. 1948 graduation. And maybe even entire basketball seasons. Couldn't say.
At some point the Cage was outfitted with the permanent retractable bleachers it has today. As shown here. But I have no idea when those were installed. I do know it had to be after the mid-'50s just for technological reasons but beyond that no idea.

Looks like the original had a dirt floor.
