Re: Where Have You Seen UMass play?
As a Junior at UMass in 1991, I was underneath the hoop on the floor at the old Pepsi (now MVP) arena in Albany for the NIT game against Siena where Tony Barbee hit the game tying 3 point shot to send it into overtime where we won in the end. I remember running to center court at the conclusion of the game to hi-five our team. Before the game tying shot, I remember the Siena PA announcer was announcing how the Siena fans could get tix for the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden. Biggest win for UMass in their history at that time. And the best UMass TEAM as Jim McCoy, Anton Brown, Will Herndon, Tony Barbee, and Harper Williams were the best starting five in UMass history, which had zero high school McDonalds All-Americans on it.
