Isn't Napier from Massachusetts? I did not know that is where Traynham is from also? I think Napier is from Charlestown.

No reasons aside from the fact that he chose UConn, he is universally rated significantly higher than DT, he's not 5'-6", and we just lost one of our other PG's to transfer. Nothing else I can think of.

Remember Special Plans. Verbals mean nothing.

This just in...

The glass is not half empty...

The spring signing seasoin is just around the corner. UMass worry warts can can get bent out of shape if his letter isn't signed sealed and delivered during that period.

In the mean time...get out and enjoy this beautiful day.

A college degree and a trip to the final four. Most people would take that!!!!!

Not picking on you UMass1991, I could have quoted several people, but it's funny to look back at what some people say about recruits...after watching Napier play in the Big East tourney this past week, I can only imagine how good he would have been in the A-10. Hopefully DK will be able to steal one of these guys from the Big East some day...for his sake, I hope it's soon!

Could Laguerre be that guy? Who knows, but one Providence fan, who had apparently seen a lot of these guys play, had this to say about Laguerre in comparison to Napier:

Much of the attention for this class will be on Napier, Tharpe, and Carter-Williams, but this kid can really play and shouldn't be considered a huge step down. Certainly a much more physical presence than Napier, although not the explosive scorer.

Believe me, I was thinking the same thing after I watched him play in Maui and then some during the BE Tourney...and Napier is from my hometown which is not known for producing Div 1 talent

Big East chatter from 2009 says LaGuerre could be a combo guard or looked like a point guard. Is he our point guard of the future? It would be pretty damn awesome to have a point guard who could score like that.

It sounds to me like he has the handle and speed to fill in at pg. Whether he thinks like a point guard seems to be the question. With only one true pg on the roster right now, we may get a chance to find out.

I thought Chaz was our point guard of the future?

He is, but he is the only one we have at that position, plus he'll be a sophomore, not a freshman.

Good for Shabazz. Hell of a career and it is still going.

He and George's Niang are the two stars who I felt we had a semi legit shot at who slipped away. Recruiting is tough when the big boy conferences come calling.
