Looks like Cal just landed Wall... top PG in the country. This recruiting class is absolutely nuts.

Wow. Them's a lot of stars in that recruiting class.

Looks like Cal may be poised to set up a dynasty for his final coaching job.

But part of his recruiting success is that the kids don't stick around long enough to make a cohesive dynasty. His teams will always be good with classes like that, but will they have the right pieces for championships and multiple championships?

Exactly Mike. He brings in great recruits that stay for a year. Kentucky will be good, but NO they will not win it all, and that's all that matters at Kentucky.

But for 1-2 free throws or a timely late foul, I think Derrick Rose would disagree with you.
I wrote this ... it's gotta be true.

woulda, coulda, shoulda.....It didn't happen. Until it does, there is no valid argument.

Finally, some sanity in these posts. Thank you, Dickie.

With all that horrible, tear jerking player movement, Memphis struggled, only getting as far as the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and numerous #2 seeds in the tournaments. I'm always amazed when there is a game that goes into overtime, takes a miracle shot, a hail mary pass, a lucky bloop single and a close-minded type of person thinks that the team that didn't win fell so short that they aren't deserving of accolades. Dominate a game, sure. But in the case of the Memphis game, hitting just one of those foul shots or fouling on the last shot and Kansas would not have won.

When a team is up nine with two minutes to go in the national championship game, I think it's valid to argue that they were national champion-caliber.

As for the notion that he brings in recruits that stay for only a year...if they're the best players in the country, why not? And there were plenty of seasoned vets on his last Memphis teams -- Anderson, CDR, Dozier, Dorsey, Taggart -- to debunk the thought that he only gets one-and-done guys.

There is some validity to the thought that a team needs some 3 and 4 year glue guys to go with the all world freshmen......but no validity to the thought that Calipari doesn't know this and has already proven that he gets it.

PG

I'm a longtime lurker but avid Umass BBall fan. Since Calipari got John Wall and he has 4 more players than scholarships (mentioned on ESPN), I wonder if he might send a PG to his good buddy, DK. Pardon if this is in the wrong thread.
