I'm sure Frank found many D1 teams. Problem is they would likely want some $$$ to travel to the Bill. It has to make sense for both sides.

The D3 opponent doesn't affect the NET, as far as I know. So why schedule a team that players won't likely take seriously and would hurt the NET ranking. Have we remembered nothing of losses to Maine and Bryant in not too distant past?

Play the sister school and give the Boston kids a chance to play in the Bill. We will get to see our walk-on guys get minutes in that game. It will be fun. I dig it!

Instead UMass has scheduled a team that players won't take seriously that won't hurt the NET ranking.

Too bad this wasn’t the additional game and UMass-Boston was the exhibition.

so...hoops...right?

Frank Martin has a heavy load on his shoulders this year, essentially carrying the entire fate of the athletic department on his back. The football program is somehow finding new lows and calls for the AD to be fired at rampant. Revenue sport 1 (football) is completely toast this year, so revenue sport 2 (hoops) needs to win. Year 3 of the Frank Martin era, washing the bad taste of football out of our mouths, and setting us up for success in the MAC. This will be a fascinating year.*

*I love hockey too, and they're great, just not as important on the national stage as football and hoops.

Bad taste fb is every year...

Program is doing some things that show effort and recognition of the investment people are making in the collective...

We have a core and a HUGE bunch of newbies coming in. Plenty of hard-working bodies available for practice. Cal would dig it. Bet he does...

:D Let's nail down some recruits that want to dominate the MAC and DANCE!!!

I can't help myself; I can't force myself to think about football, so all my energy is devoted to BB and hockey. Was thinking about PT again and I'm trying to figure out Rivera's role. I wonder how much of an impact he will have on the offensive end. I think he will be OK against our level of competition on the defensive and rebounding fronts.

All of his scoring comes from taking the ball to the hoop. He shot 11% from 3 on only 28 attempts and 47% from the free throw line (only 4.3 free throws per game). Will he be able to score inside against A10 teams? I haven't seen him play so I really don't know.

Any thoughts?

^I think this year it will be, all revealed in time. Just too many unknowns right now. I hope coach can find ten or so guys he can count on, just have little idea who they will be.

Rivera is the guy I'm worried about. I had concerns when I first saw those shooting numbers, and I'm still concerned. A lot of people are saying that he came here to start, and that he's going to take Jayden or DHS's starting spot. Those guys were pretty darned good last year, I don't see them giving up their starting spot to a guy who can't shoot. Not trying to be too hard on Rivera, but if your game is driving to the hoop, you have to convert at the line when you inevitably get fouled.

Yep, Jayden and DHS are dudes. Anyone else needs to get in line.

DUQ - no sched yet
FOR - Georgian Court (D2)

GW - no sched yet
LAS - Immaculata (D3)

SJU - all D1
SLU - Avila (NAIA), Williams Woods (NAIA)
VCU - Elizabeth City (D2)
Davidson has since released their non-con sched, and they're also joining the trend of having a lower-tier game. Their opener has 'em hosting William Peace (D3).

Similar with GW. They're hosting UVA Wise (D2).

Crazy that DUQ hasn't released their slate yet.

Do those count on their official W/L record?
