UMass’ Frank Martin has hired former Holy Cross head coach Brett Nelson as an assistant, per source.

Nelson played on Martin’s AAU team with Steve Blake and Udonis Haslem.

All of Martin’s assistants have played for him. Allen Edwards in high school, and Brian Steele at South Carolina.
